Serious message from @TiceRichard at Bloomberg about the dire state of the financial sector. No growth; chronic debt. We used to have 100 IPOs a year in London. This year so far: 13. We need less & better regulation in the City; growth capital for entrepreneurs & SMEs; properly funded pensions; a far simpler tax code. @reformparty_uk is working on these priorities.

@mariateresamarb Yes, I read the first 4 "New Frontier" novellas and enjoyed all of them. That was one of the first times a Trek book series starred a captain and crew who were not from a Trek show. I think that also the series which introduced the Brickar (e.g. PRO's Rok-tahk).

@TrekBookClub Vendetta is one of my favorites and The New Frontier Series, he made Shelby likeable and gave Selar a life outside sickbay

Sad to hear about the passing of Peter David. His "Imzadi", "Vendetta", "Q-Squared" and the first few "New Frontier" novellas are among my favorite Star Trek novels.

@captainTJmiller "Vendetta" was the first Peter David I read several years ago. I really enjoyed it and how he connected the Borg story arc with bits from TOS.

@TrekBookClub Vendetta was my VERY FIRST Star Trek Novel. Took me two weeks of summer pocket money to save up and buy it. So I am very sad to hear this news.
