@TrevorSolutions @LightMakhanya1 I couldn’ve easily done what he said and add the phone to my car insurance but I’m not a criminal nor am I foolish enough to incriminate myself on social media.

Please don’t stop reporting your stolen iPhones. My friend’s phone was stolen a month ago and he reported it at the police station. Today, someone went to report a guy who sold him a ‘new’ iPhone that suddenly locked and asked for the owner’s details. The officer handling (1/2)

@LightMakhanya1 When I went to report my IPhone 16pro max, the officer on duty there said I must not report the phone, get insurance for it first and then after a month I must go back to him and he will help me claim . He said I will never get my back and “white people do this everytime” he said

@kyeruphiona Beautiful story! The family's communication to you came from love and circumstances. One of the most important conversations pre-marriage is defining roles of husband and wife in the specific intended marriage. In most cases, this also extends to respective family expectations.

I remember the first time I visited my husband’s family and we had a sleepover. In the morning, I woke up early trying to clean everything to show my home training 😂 my mother-in-law just told me to leave it because the cleaning lady was coming in a few. After breakfast, I started clearing the dishes to wash them and they were just like “no, just pop those in the dish washer” 😭 I have never felt so embarrassed trying to be a 'well brought up' woman in a modern house. 🚶🏾‍♀️💀

There was a woman who sold rice and stew outside my office building on Broad Street. Every day for 4 years. Big pot. Blue plastic chairs. She knew everyone's order before they reached her table. Her name was Mama Chidi. Mine was the last plate before she packed up. 1:45pm. Every day without fail she'd see me coming and start dishing before I even sat down. Extra meat. Never charged me for it. I asked her once why. She said I looked like someone who skipped breakfast. She was right every time. 2019 she stopped showing up. No warning. Just gone. I asked around. Nobody knew anything. I switched to a restaurant down the road. More expensive. Smaller portions. Spent 4 years just quietly missing a plate of rice I never properly appreciated. Last month my colleague forwarded a Twitter post into our work group. A young guy. Maybe 25. Saying his mother used to sell food on Broad Street before she had a stroke in 2019 that took her left side. That she was recovering but kept asking about her regulars. That she cried one day saying she never got to say goodbye to any of them. I DM'd him immediately. He called me 10 minutes later. She was sitting right next to him. I heard her voice through the phone. Slower than I remembered. But she laughed when he told her who it was. She said she always saved my plate last because quiet people need someone looking out for them. I visited her in Mushin on Saturday. She can't stand long anymore. But she sat up straight in that chair and watched me eat everything she'd made. Didn't let me leave without packing food for the road. Some people just decide to take care of you. Before you even know you need it.

Prayers to all trying to bring family back home under the circumstances 😭🙏🏽. Not easy. Talking to my very calm, mature 17 year old “baby boy” …all on his own, rerouting his travel plans for his school break & original route to SA via UAE . Tjo…I’ll sleep peacefully when he lands. So grateful for the assistance we’ve had from the airlines. Now we wait and pray 🙏🏽

My daughter was born in New Zealand, growing up far from the ancestral soil and stories of Zimbabwe. Yet for her school art project she chose to draw herself through the lens of who she is. She doesn’t really know Zimbabwe. She’s only been there twice, when she was still in primary school. But as I looked at this drawing, I felt something only a father can feel. The quiet, overwhelming pride mixed with gratitude. What melts my heart is that her favourite song is “Simbimbino” by the Bhundu Boys. Somehow, without long lectures or history lessons, the rhythm of home reached her soul. It reminds me that identity isn’t forced. It is inherited in ways we can’t always explain. In the stories she overhears, in the music playing in the background, in the love we try to pass down. As a father in the diaspora, moments like this feel like a gentle whisper, “Your roots are alive in your children”. No matter how far we travel, home still finds them. #ProudZimbabwean #ProudAfrican #ProudImmigrant

I have this cousin who doesn't like his business to be known by people because he was scared of jealous people and witchcraft. This other December he wanted to come back home, we called him and asked, “When will you come back?”. He answered, “It will probably be after 6 months” Then, surprisingly, the following day, we saw him entering the gate with a prayer. We asked him why he lied to us, “No it is just that I don't trust no one, next thing my life will be known by abathakathi Witches”, then he went to his room. In the morning, we woke up and enjoyed breakfast, after hours of waiting for my cousin to wake up. We started questions his whereabouts then we saw his status update while at the hotel, the caption was, “Incase my haters think that I'm around they will be disappointed because tonight I'm sleeping here”. He came back the following morning driving a mini cooper. We asked him whose car was it, he looked at us and said, “Shhhhh! If bathakatha imoto, If they bewitch the car to make accidents they will kill the wrong person so let them think it is mine”. In the evening, we asked him if he would go back to the hotel tonight? He answered, “I’m sure today my haters will go and look for me there, so I will sleep inside the car”. After saying that, he immediately went to sleep. The following day, my big sister cooked his favorite meal and he said, “I have a new favorite meal now, because if you guys know the old one that means even witches and haters know it.” he ordered pizza and we didn't see the car then we asked where it is? He said “It is at the car wash, I will sleep there”. The following day, we woke up to his message saying he was in Pretoria. He took a taxi and went to sleep there. Since then, he never came back, and he keeps changing his number and saying, “Don't save this number, I will chew the simcard when we speaking”. He will go to a place and post about it after 3 months, and the caption will be “If you think I'm here, well I might have left, who knows?❤️”. You don't even text him here on X because he keeps changing accounts. 😭😭

The killing of Isaac David Satlat by a woman passenger shows how brutal our country is. I always advise e-hailing drivers not to allow passengers to sit at the back to avoid this kind of cruelty.

@nubian6 I always find it strange that some of us black people are so comfortable to generalise and judge a whole nation, sometimes a whole race with negative stereotypes. Would be interesting to see how same 'judges' react when hearing some stereotypes like e.g 'Black people are lazy'

I once worked with a Zim women and we became close. So I decided to ask her about armpits. She said buying roll on is not a thing in Zim, as long as you bathed, that's enough. Introduced her to a stick deo and she never looked back. She said, most, her included, didn't even know that odour is not normal. Most of them are really not aware hey. Educate them, each one teach one

Unfortunately, the smelling armpits allegations are true. The average Zimbabwean man smells like 🤦🏾‍♀️ Do better veduwee
