I always call Muhoozi, Muogi. It is because our neighbour in Upanga, Dar-es-Salaam, was Mzee Tito Okello (Gen). Being a traditional Acholi, he had a problem with pronouncing the “z” in Muhoozi’s name. Hence, the Muogi and Maama Janet also became Maama Muogi. Tito’s wife was safely Maama Jennifer because we had no problem pronouncing Jennifer, the sister of Okello Oryem. Unfortunately, Jennifer died some years ago. Signed: Yoweri K. Museveni Ampa (Grandpa)
Yoweri K Museveni@KagutaMuseveni

Greetings fellow Ugandans, fellow Africans and especially, the Bazzukulu.   I am sending out this message to, first of all, thank God for giving Maama and myself our wonderful children: Muhoozi (Muogi), Natasha (Kukuru), Patience (Pusi) and Kyaremeera (Kyinini)., protecting them and prospering them.  Secondly, I want to thank Maama for looking after them especially for the years 1981-86 when she was the only parent near them. Thirdly, I salute the children for going through the school systems and branching out successfully in the different fields of life – family, career, etc. Fourthly, I thank the Ugandans and some of the Africans for standing with and supporting our family and Political movement in the various endeavours we have been undertaking with them. On this occasion, on the 24th of April 2026, I want to congratulate Gen. Muhoozi (Muogi) on this 52nd birthday. These children, in particular Muhoozi, were born in the resistance, grew up in the resistance, and, in various ways, have made significant contribution to the resistance. Gen. Muhoozi has made significant contribution to fighting corruption in the Army and increasing the lethality of the UPDF.

My brother Kirya, kindly take heart. There’s more to life than an election. You did your part and the voters decided. I personally celebrate you for showing interest in leadership. Just to let you know that leadership is not confined in a title or office. With your numbers and influence, you can still impact society positively and that’s leadership. We have individuals who are impacting society much more than those who hold offices. My humble request is that you concede and work with the new leadership for a better UOX🙏
Kirya Ug 🇺🇬@kirya_ug

I won on the first poll, she won on the second poll. I had a far margin in the first poll, she had a lesser margin in the second poll. Let’s go for a rerun, two people on the poll and let’s see, 28 votes shouldn’t be the end of this.

@UG_confesses Even consultant surgeons lose patients on table; that's why you're informed of the risks and benefits involved and you sign an informed consent; even if the procedure is as small as draining an abscess.... Any complication can occur

It is unfortunate that we lost our MP, but urgent reforms are needed in how doctors are trained and admitted. Low A-level performers, sometimes with weak grades or inflated results due to cheating, are being admitted into private medical schools. They graduate with unearned marks, gain employment through connections, and this is contributing to patient deaths. The Medical Council should centralize admissions and base them on consistent academic performance from S.5 onward. The quality of medical graduates must be strictly assessed. Commercialization of education is producing underqualified doctors, leading to avoidable deaths, while their mistakes often go unexamined.

A UK-based Nigerian Ticktoker known as Jectimi, recently confessed that him and his Ghanaian colleagues lied about their truck-driving experience to secure a jobs of £350 per 8-hour in the UK. He made a video and posted it online, the video went viral, & the company saw it, few days later the truck driving company sacked him and his Ghanaian friend.

My medical hot takes: 1. Every c/section should be done by a gynaecologist. 2. Every hospital with a theatre should have a permanent anaesthesiologist. 3. COs have no business being in theatre. AT ALL. 4. MOs should only do minor procedures.

Admin i made it from Russia. I eacaped. 4 of us did. Unfortunately two other Ugandan friends died there. I am even crying writing this. I told myself i wasn't going to get on social media and say anything but the nightmares i get are too much. I studied Engineering. Graduated with honors in 2024. I had struggled for a good job but had work. Only for someone to contact me via my LinkedIn profile last year. It was a lady. A munyankore lady. An opening to train and learn fixing machines in a factory in Russia. Two months later i found out there were others going with me. 8 other individuals. We got very quick help with our passports, visas were cleared, transportation was free, and accomodation there would be free. We transited through Istanbul, then made it Moscow. Moment we got there, our passports were taken, they provided us contracts in Russian, and you cant have your phone to translate so people just signed because you knew you were in trouble already, and then only to find out the job descriptions had changed. You left that room, talked to everyone else and thats when you found out you were fucked. I remember this Bangladeshi guy walking to us and saying.. "African? You are sacrifice. We all are. What are you doing here?" I told him "Engineer." He laughed and replied, "Dead Engineer. They are taking us to fight." When we later got the contract translated, the offer was $2000 every month and Russian citizenship. I remember this Russian guy telling us in broken English "You speak English. We want. They give you jobs behind. No frontline." Then he turned and told his friends "Myortvye obezyanyi". Dead Monkeys. Which is something we would hear a lot. And it came to be true. Me, another guy called Lukembo Jimmy, and Tumwebaze Deogratius (both dead) were placed in the most high risk infantry roles on the frontline. The Storm Z unit. Made up of Russian prisoners for the most part. Expendable. You were not meant to come back and they knew it. It was the same for every African there. Kenyans, Nigerians, Ghanaians, South Africans. If they wanted to know a Ukrainian machine gunner position, they force you to go. We had guns to our heads to run out of an MTLB. Which is a tractor. We were sent to the frontline in the back of a tractor. While their soldiers are safe in APCs. 😭 The moment we jumped out bullets started raining down from a tree line. People died. Jimmy and Deo died, admin. We were so many someone just tripped me as i was running and i fell and i realised i could stay down. This was January so winter. Whoever the machine gunner was just sprayed more bullets to make sure and then the Russian drones buzzing became too much you knew they had located him and were pursuing him. It was the plan all along. Sacrifice us to know the position of the Ukrainian fighters. 5 of us would get evacuated later in the night. I had never been that cold. But only reason we were evacuated is because they wanted back one of their own. One of the people that told us to go on gun point. I would later desert the base with 4 other people. A Turkish guy had contacted an NGO called Idite Lesom and they had advised us on a town to go, where to avoid. I am back because of them. Forever grateful 😭

In other related developments This is to put the record right regarding the journalist that was brought to the Emergency Unit @MulagoReferral last week. Upon arrival at the Emergency Unit @MulagoReferral , the patient one Mukwana Ronald was received & assessment immediately and a treatment plan was made. However, when the attendant to the patient in the names of Kateregga Bashir was briefed of the treatment plan, he declined the advise from the medical personnel and even signed consenting to have the patient discharged against medical advice. This is therefore, to refute allegations that the hospital did not attend to patient and the claim that we discharged the patient for further treatment in another health facility. @MulagoReferral has the capacity to handle such a case and in any case we admit 30 to 60 patients daily who are managed by our dedicated medical team.

@agribussiness1 For sure I'm all in for the cash.... In as much as most people don't want to admit, medicine is also a business and we survive off it, just like any other careers/businesses... It sustains our lives; so if it's about the money, then yes, I'm in for the money 🥹🥹

Today on Easter, I want you all tag doctors. Any doctor you know, Nurse ,pharmacist cardiologist, dermatologist, oncologist, Endocrinologist physiatrist ,Nephrologist gastroenterologist, Haematologist, rheumatologist, specialist, Nutritionist and whoever. Tag them right here in comments, stories and DMs. Challenge them to speak out in the next twenty-four hours. I said it: overfeeding meat, dairy, ghee for beauty or marriage is not culture, it's cholesterol, heart risks, diabetes. If I'm wrong, prove it. DOCTORS come out and Say something. We've heard too long: "They like us sick-more money." Nah. Show us you're here for health not cash. Silence? That speaks too. Tag now. Let's see who cares. Twenty-four hours— clock's ticking.
