@TridentProject I’d be grateful if you can point me to some resources how to reduce memory print to a minimum. Also ZFS memory usage. Everything. To a 1GB? 🙈 Thank you.

@NeoMoevius What type of laptop do you have? We can ask around to see if anyone knows any tricks about getting the mousepad to work.

I finally tested @TridentProject on my FreeBSD laptop, even my mousepad was not detected (i have to use a mouse) I would like to congratulate to the developers for this project and I could have installed the OS in 18 minutes. Keep working guys you are doing a great job !.

@bcadej I dont think so, it 'might' but it wouldn't run well. Ive never tried on anything less than 2gb, and due to ZFS we dont recommend anything less than 4gb.

@TridentProject This is how Trident-18.12-RELEASE-x64-20190115.iso starts up in VMware Fusion 8.5.10. Buttons outside visible area. Res seems to be 1280x720. Can I fix this somehow?

We appreciate the feedback @ChrisLAS gave us on @LinuxActionNews Though we wish he'd have noticed is that we have ZFS snapshot integration built into the file manager. You'll get a slide bar that lets you scroll back through the ZFS snapshot history of the directory you're in.

@vermaden @q5sys @se7entime @freebsd_bot Like we said before, PR's welcome. We're happy to have people help us improve the look. Though lets stay away from copying MacOS' look and feel to much, that's a bit long in the tooth.

@q5sys @TridentProject @se7entime @freebsd_bot Do not get me wrong, I really like the idea of BSD oriented DE. Its good to hear that Limuna/Trident will have its own and fully controlled by developers WM. ... its just that 'look' you know :)

@MacLemon @MischaSprecher Our entire project is four people. 2 Developers, 1 Documentation guy, and 1 Community guy, all prior TrueOS Desktop guys. Our focus has been on a release so the TrueOS Desktop users weren't left with nothing. We have been focusing on our existing userbase.

@gab_data @vermaden @se7entime @freebsd_bot We know Lumina has some rough edges and bugs. Lumina was a one man project for several years before others came on board. We know we have a lot of work to do, but we've got a great community around us who help us find and fix bugs so we can focus on adding new features.

@gab_data @vermaden @se7entime @freebsd_bot Lumina was created by Ken Moore as a BSD licensed desktop focused on the BSD family of OSes. Lumina shipped with the TrueOS Desktop which Trident is the continuation of. We're sticking with Lumina so we can dogfood our own desktop. Dont like Lumina? sudo pkg install ${desktop}
