Been banging the drum for Yates to Mets, as most know. If it becomes official w/Dodgers, as first reported by @BNightengale, it clearly wasn't his priority to be a closer. So no excuse for the Mets not getting him. Yates, Minter, Diaz would have been excellent late-inning trio.

This is a really bad look for Lindor. Said afterward that he wasn't picking up the spin on Rodriguez's slider, and was basically hoping he'd throw a ball. Don't think I've ever heard that one before. At the very least, can't quit on pitch before you even see what or where it is.

@NYNJHarper Lindor doesn’t need to be batting in the top 5 of this order. Drop him until he figures it out. If your analytics department doesn’t understand that someone batting under .200 shouldn’t be hitting 2 or 3 then you need new nerds inputting ghe data. Analytics needs a recency bias

Some numbers: Interesting how Mets wins/losses so far correlate more directly with Lindor's ups/downs than Alonso. In their wins Lindor slashing .315/.399/.593/.970; in losses .077/.172/.096/.269. Alonso, meanwhile, in wins .177/.276/.314/.590; in losses .327/.375/.712/1.087.
