TSFA has been delighted to welcome the Governor of the Bank of England, Andrew Bailey, alongside Deputy Governor Clare Lombardelli and their team, to speak with our students today. @bankofengland From a fascinating Trinity Talks to an insightful Q&A with all of our students, this was an incredible experience for our cohort. The Governor and his team then delivered a specialised talk with our A-level Economics students who engaged in incredible discussions around monetary policy and developed a deeper understanding into the significance of their roles and responsibilities. 💬 From finances to career insights, the visit was an outstanding and inspiring experience for our students. 💬 TRINITY TALKS 💬 We were pleased to welcome Mike Maudsley, the CEO of Enfinium, to deliver a Trinity Talks to our students today. Enfinium is the UK's leading energy from waste operating company to use landfill for homegrown energy ♻️ Mike talked the students through his career journey from his origins in Halifax, to his positions in Oman and Dubai, before returning to his Yorkshire routes as the CEO of a multi-billion pound company! 💰💼 He also outlined his personal challenges within education as well as his experiences with the apprenticeship and university pathway. The talk encouraged students to have ambition, and demonstrated that success can come to those with strong work ethics as well as real determination and resilience in the face of set backs 💪. Throughout the entirety of last week, members of our Pupil Leadership Group displayed their courage and public speaking skills in Trinity +. They all delivered personal pitches to the entire of their House community to hopefully be elected as House Captain. This is a huge achievement for all who put themselves forward! 😄 An extra well done to those students who were successfully voted in as the representative House Captain for their house! 👏👏 This is a significant milestone, as these individuals now have the opportunity to put themselves forward for the titles of Head Student which they will begin campaigning for soon. ✍🏻 EXAM SEASON! ✍🏻 We will send out weekly upcoming exams posts throughout the exam season to help our Year 13 student to keep on top of their schedules! 🗓️ Each of you have been sent your individual timetables for you to check your room location and seat number ahead of the exam. Please make sure you refer to your personal information too! Most subjects have a pre-exam workshop with the subject teacher one hour before the exam. This is for you to go over last minute key content, make sure you have all equipment you need and to get in the right headspace amongst your peers - please make sure you attend promptly to these! ⏰ Good luck to all with the exams above this week! ☺️

Our A-level Economics students experienced an insightful and valuable lecture on Economic Experiments yesterday by Dr Alex Squires from the The University of Manchester. At TSFA today, we welcomed Mary McFadzean to speak to our Year 12 Humanities and Literature A-level students about how the specific skills they gain in these level three qualifications will benefit them in their future careers. 💼  Mary was later joined by MP Kate Dearden @katedeardenmp who talked them through her own career journey and explained how the skills she'd developed at sixth form had been significant to her success. ✨ Our students did us proud through their enthusiastic engagement throughout the session and particularly valued the extended Q&A, which provided an excellent opportunity to explore the world of politics and real‑world applications of their studies. #trinitysixthformacademy #humanitiescareers #futurethinking #careers

Today, TSFA got a dose of doggo cuddles thanks to a visit from the RSPCA. The star of the show was definitely Fudge, a gorgeous RSPCA rescue who showed us all exactly why adoption is so special. 🐶✨ ​Fudge's visit brought awareness about how to support the incredible work the RSPCA does every day. From the adoption process to local fundraising events for the animals in their care; there are so many ways to give support and care to these animals! ​In addition, our Charity PLG team was out in full force hosting a tasty bake sale to keep the momentum going! 🌟 STUDENT SUCCESS 🌟 Congratulations to our Year 13 student Jacob who has made his first appearance of the season playing representative cricket for Yorkshire Schools Cricket Association against Worksop College 1st XI. 👏🏏 Although the team lost by a narrow margin, Jacob scored 33 runs alone for YSCA. What an amazing week it has been so far celebrating the incredible diversity at TSFA! 🗺️ Each event has been a huge success and we've loved seeing so many students take part to learn about and experience different cultures. From Henna and Hijab workshops to flamenco flower designs and African wrap stalls to Carnival face gem art! 😃 Tomorrow is the final day which sees the annual 'Big Cultural Step-Up' celebration take place. The annual Culture Week has started at TSFA with fun activities taking place across the week that are linked to the cultures within different continents! This has been organised by our Diversity Pupil Leadership Group! 👏 Today' the activities were centred around South America and the Caribbean and tomorrow will be focusing on South and East Asia! Take a look at the events throughout the week and take part in Trinity Eats! 😄 The week will end with THE (!!) Culture Day which is the calendar date we all looked forward to at TSFA and it always proves to be a fantastic event. Our students had the invaluable opportunity today to take part in a revision session with Professor Jean March Lawton — a senior examiner and author of textbooks — gaining first-hand advice on what examiners are really looking for. From understanding mark schemes to refining exam technique, sessions like these give our students a real edge as they prepare for their exams. Keep up the good work guys - the count down is on.

Men's Football ⚽ Wins Vs Dixons (11-0), Elliot Hudson (8-0), Maltby (4-0) and a 4-4 draw with St. Mary's Hull! Women's Rugby League 🏉 Big wins over Calderdale College and Warrington Wolves finishing 4th out of 15 nationally! ✨ PPT Celebratory Breakfast ✨ Also this week, our PPT team hosted the end of term celebratory breakfast where students were specifically selected based on their noticeable efforts and outstanding achievements over the recent term. 👏 To recognise the excellent things they do day to day, they enjoyed McDonald's breakfast, hot chocolates and biscuits along with a presentation made by their PPT that was all about them! They also played quizzes, games such as two truths and a lie as well as winding down with conversation and getting to know each other better 😄 Well done to all of you who were invited and keep up the excellent work!
