The US controls Iraq's oil sales. Until Iraq ends that (the Chinese would probably be willing to help) they remain a colony whether there are US troops there or not.

This is quite extraordinary: Iran is quite literally freeing Iraq from US occupation. The US/NATO asked Iraqi resistance factions for a ceasefire to allow safe withdrawal, essentially what happened in Afghanistan.

@Triquetrea Trump is senile, sick in other ways, old and almost certainly being blackmailed by Israel. He's hard to predict under ordinary circumstances and I think people often read in strategy where there isn't one.
The smarter people are, the more likely they are to assume a plan.
