On behalf of the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office, the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) announces the fallen officer escort of Deputy Brandon Gaede from Wichita, Kansas, to Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel in Phillipsburg, Kansas, on July 1. Deputy Gaede died in the line of duty on June 27. The escort, to include the Kansas law enforcement and larger first responder community, will leave Wichita at approximately noon and travel north on I-135 through Salina. They will continue west out of Salina on I-70 to exit 159, then go north on US-183 to westbound US-36. The escort will enter the city of Phillipsburg from the east on US-36/State Street. During the escort, motorists traveling along this route may experience delays. Please monitor KHP communications for forthcoming details on funeral services.

A big congrats to my buddy Master Trooper Robert “Bob” LeVelle on his retirement! Bob has served the citizens of Kansas for over 34 years as a Trooper and Deputy. He has mentored hundreds over the years and definitely left us some big shoes to fill! We wish you well Bob!

Had a great time taking pics for the 31st Show n Shine car show. Got to chat with @TrooperChadKHP take pics with a model and see lots of awesome classic cars. Was busiest I've seen in a few years, all to benefit Make a wish Kansas.

@kshighwaypatrol road patrol Troopers have been busy patrolling around the @KansasStateFair. Last night LT. McGuire stopped a motorist for driving 107 mph in a posted 65 mph. The driver was arrested for DUI and other traffic charges. Please drive defensively.

One of my favorite parts of the @KansasStateFair is our annual #trooperonatrain ride. The State Fair Railroad Co allows us to take kiddos on a ride around the grounds to help them not be nervous around officers. What a positive experience for us all! @kshighwaypatrol

Troopers at the @KansasStateFair provide security, first aid, traffic control and a bunch of laughs for the guests! Who says Troopers can’t have a little fun on a break? Warning: Troopers are bigger and moving faster than they appear! @kshighwaypatrol

If you are coming to the Kansas State Fair and bringing your kiddos, take a picture of them when you arrive. This will assist us troopers in finding them if you are separated. And if your husband is like me, you don’t want to rely on his memory with what they are wearing! 😬

KHP is out in full force for the state fair! Last night a Trooper checked the speed of a Camaro on K-96 in RN Co at 151 mph! A pursuit ensued and the driver was eventually taken into custody. Some of the charges included DUI, a felony warrant and a list of other traffic charges.
