When I was a trooper, I wanted to give back. I told myself that I would attend the funerals of fallen troopers who paid the ultimate sacrifice and represent South Carolina. I’ve flown to California, Buffalo, NY, etc on my own dime. At the time, the SCHP didn’t have the funds to send me, but the South Carolina Troopers Association paid for my hotel rooms. This was important to me and over the years, I went to dozens of funerals. I wanted to present the family of the fallen with a flag from South Carolina and know that we were grieving with them. While in Florida, I did get to meet “Trooper Steve” who is a Traffic Safety Expert on their local news. @TrooperSteve_
