@joshuarolson The far right is oblivously horrible. The far left is subtly horrible. There are 2 kinds of far leftists, the poor and the elites, their agendas aren't the same. The ruling class promises equality, but it makes everyone equally poor. They take the wealth and power for themselves

@drterrysimpson Half of the heart surgery patients have normal to low cholesterol. Where is the causality?

Your doctor measures cholesterol because it predicts who gets carried out of the hospital. Insulin, by contrast, mostly predicts who will buy a glucose monitor on the internet. LDL has causal evidence, randomized trials, and therapies that reduce heart attacks and death. Insulin has influencers, fasting curves, and arguments about what “optimal” even means. We don’t ignore insulin—we measure its consequences: glucose and HbA1c. Because medicine prefers endpoints over vibes. If insulin were as actionable as cholesterol, it would be on every lab panel already. It isn’t. That’s not a conspiracy—it’s a clue.

Why does your doctor check your cholesterol but not your insulin levels?

@ChrisMartin1961 In Canada the boomers keep voting for socialist policies that benefit only them and ruin it for the people currently working and the kids. Dunno about the US.

I’m seeing, yet again, this surge of hatred for the Boomer generation. I’m a late season Boomer, born in 1961; I’ve worked for nearly 50 years, have been in the same profession for 37 years, I’ve routinely worked 45-60 hours a week. I don’t get why we are so vilified.

@AlanRMacLeod Could be either. If the rower pays taxes to the passengers or the passengers pay a wage to the rowers. To me, it looks more like feudalism and slavery.

@Mr_Husky1 That's the first sign of future abuse. If he doesn't spend all of it, the goal is to prevent you from leaving when he gets abusive because you won't be independant financially. He's gonna cut you off from your friends and family too so you have nowhere to run off to.

I’m about to get married, and my fiancé knows I have an inheritance that was left to me by my grandparents. It’s in my name only, and I’ve been saving it for years. Now he’s saying that before we get married, I should put the entire inheritance into a joint account so we can “start fresh together,” or he doesn’t think we should go through with the wedding. I’m 36 already and this is something my family worked hard to leave me. I’m torn between wanting to build a life together and feeling like I’m being pressured to give up something important to me. What do you think I should do? By isitmeaitah

Nobody actually likes sauerkraut. If you grew up eating it & developed some sort of Stockholm syndrome complex, you have my full sympathy & I withhold all judgment. But there is no way a grown adult tries sauerkraut for the first time & says "yum... more please"

@Kekius_Sage I don't understand why it's ok to believe that god doesn't need a creator but the energy that created the big bang does. God is that energy, what we don't agree on is whether it's sentient.

@MarkJCarney I'm so tired of that old tune. You're not helping, you're over correcting. It's like giving insulin to a diabetic because they eat too much sugar. Just fucking stop eating sugar, you won't need insulin. Benefits don't make life more affordable!

@TheConvoy192724 @josephplummer @SamaHoole Dr Nick Norwitz is a very healthy guy and tried an experiment. He lowered his LDL cholesterol considerably by eating Oreos. My take away is that maybe lowering cholesterol isn't the answer. Look at your HDL to triglycerides ratio. If your trig are low and HDL is high, you're fine

Doctor: "Your cholesterol is high. I'd like to put you on a statin." Patient: "What does high cholesterol actually mean for my risk?" Doctor: "It increases your risk of a cardiac event." Patient: "By how much?" Doctor: "Significantly." Patient: "But how much, specifically?" Doctor: "Your LDL is elevated." Patient: "The absolute risk. What is it." Doctor: "Statins are very well studied." Patient: "I'd like the number." Doctor: "Some patients experience muscle pain, memory issues, and elevated blood sugar..." Patient: "That sounds like the treatment." Doctor: "These are rare." Patient: "What's the absolute risk reduction?" Doctor: "I have a leaflet." The leaflet is provided by the pharmaceutical company. The leaflet does not contain the absolute risk reduction.

No one should need an ID to vote. You racists all known minority communities aren't able to get ID required. This can be for many reason, unable to pass driving tests, unable to read or write.. etc You insist on not allowing them to vote. Shame

We’re saving Canadians up to $50,000 on your first home.    Last week, Bill C-4 became law — officially eliminating the GST for first-time home buyers on new homes up to $1 million, and reducing it on new homes between $1 million and $1.5 million.

@BrentAWilliams2 Diabetes is insulin resistance caused by constant elevated insulin caused by high blood glucose. Moving makes the muscles absorb glucose without the need for insulin. When your commute on foot is 1h per day, and when you eat whole foods instead of processed sugar, it helps.
