This year’s Hanukkah celebrations have carried a deeper significance for our communities following the recent Heaton Park Synagogue attack and the act of terrorism at Bondi Beach earlier this month. With those events in mind, last night we proudly welcomed colleagues, partners, and community representatives to our Bury Training and Safety Centre for a special Hanukkah celebration.   The event brought together people from across the region to share in the traditions of the Jewish Festival of Lights and strengthen the bonds between our service and the communities we serve.  Members of our service were also at the recent lighting of the menorah at Heaton Park Synagogue to mark Hanukkah. The lighting was part of a wider celebration of hope, faith and resilience.

This evening we celebrated the final day of Hanukkah at an event at our Training and Safety centre in Bury.

Members from @gmpolice @HertsPolice and @metpoliceuk at the Cenotaph today for the annual @AJEX_UK parade remembering the contribution of Jewish colleagues within HM Armed Forces.

Honoured to receive the King Charles III Coronation Medal A symbol of service and dedication to our nation 🇬🇧👑

PCSO's spotted this overweight van driving around Bury and with our @GMPSpecials in the 'right place, right time' intercepted it... Surprise, surprise: no insurance & only a provisional driving licence. Vehicle seized & driver reported straight to court!

Meet our shining star of the day! Fresh out the car wash, sparkling like new... but #Seized by our @GMPSpecials The driver was disqualified & uninsured, but hey, at least the car was clean! Remember folks, no amount of soap and wax can cover up a lack of insurance or licence!

Yup, I remember these drills too back in my primary school... we would prepare for attacks...

#Bury Driver pulled up next to our @GMPSpecials at the lights to share her overnight custody story... But with no insurance, her vehicle had a different tale; 'Seized!'

#Bury A taxi driver, driving erratically in front of our Special Constables who then intercepted the vehicle... The driver ended up being arrested for drug driving (cannabis) and then further arrested for possesion of cannabis found hidden in the vehicle 👮🏻‍♂️M.

#Whitefield Driving down the road with these off road bikes hanging out drew attention to our Special constables... With the driver having an expired provisional licence and no insurance, he was reported directly to court and the vehicle was seized 👮🏻‍♂️M.

Officers from the Whitefield Policing Team, @GMPSpecials & DIT Team conducted a joint Traffic Op around Whitefield this evening. Numerous drivers have been reported for Excess Speed, Contravening a Red Traffic Light & seat belt offences (insecure child in passenger seat) 👮🏻‍♂️M.

Back in June, a driver failed to stop & ran from this devastation Our @GMPSpecials responded & subsequently carried out enquiries locating the driver days later who's now convicted of fail to report and fail to stop after an accident Sentence; 6 points & £715 fines/costs 👮🏻‍♂️M

Your #Bury Special Constables carried out speed checks & enforcement today at key locations across the district where local concerns have been raised including theses Roads/Lanes; 👮🏼‍♂️M. 🚨 Helmshore Rd 🚨Peel Brow, Ramsbottom 🚨Croft Ln 🚨Walmersley Rd - (two locations)

Our @GMPSpecials were invite to the Mayor of Burys Parlour for an evening of appreciation for all their dedication to policing communities of Bury In 2023 Bury special constables performed 5561 operational duty hours, involved in 108 arrests & took 75 vehicles off Bury roads 👮🏻‍♂️M
