Is it just me or is this gravel beef stemming from an underlying reluctance from top riders to admit that they are professional athletes competing in pro bike races? The level is high, competition is deep, and winning is tough. Maybe it's time to bust out some new tactics.

@shaneferro Sorry I added to whatever stress you’re experiencing over this. If it matters, I meant “personally” not in terms of personality but as opposed to professionally: Critiquing this specific story (the editing) not the person (the editor). As I said, I’ve heard he’s a good editor.

@shaneferro @dlberes Someone who’s worked with you at another outlet, Damon, tells me that you’re a good editor, by the way. I wouldn’t consider this a well-edited piece, though, no matter how well it might have done for you in traffic.

@shaneferro @dlberes Even beyond the failure to locate a strong narrative or premise, the editing allows the misguided writer to get away with several to many statements that simply don’t hold up under any kind of factual or logical check
