It’s time to normalize the phrase “Jewish terrorists” when discussing Jewish-violence against Palestinians. Consistency matters, if “Islamic terrorists” is acceptable language, so is “Jewish terrorists”
Sitting outside a pub in Little Venice in London right now waiting to photograph an event near here this evening. An orthodox Jewish family walked past. A husband, his wife, their toddler and a baby in a pram. An Arab girl in her twenties just walked up to them and made a gun sign with her hand and said die. Then pointed the ‘gun’ at their each child and said die. She stood there threatening and laughing as she wished them dead. I told her to fuck off and she wandered away laughing. I’m angry at myself for not videoing her instead so you can see the depths of the vermin in this country, protected by the mayor, the police and the government. Photo of where I watched it. Truly awful.

A few hundred meters from the Temple Mount under the city of David in Jerusalem. I love this city in spite of the tension, the heat, the dust. I love the pride and joy I see on the faces of my tour guides, time after time, as they share their roots unearthed and embrace their story with gratitude and faith. Every time, I go deeper underground and further back in time. Today, under the pilgrimage road leading from the Pool of Siloam to Solomon’s Temple, we walked through what used to be Jerusalem’s drainage system, thousands of years ago This isn’t just an engineering marvel. Josephus described this very channel in The Jewish War how, as Rome closed in during the siege of 70 CE, residents fled underground to escape the slaughter above, and how the Romans hunted them down anyway, tearing up the street stones to reach the people hiding beneath. Walking through it today, I could feel the weight of that history under my feet, a passage built to carry rainwater that became, in its final days, a last refuge for a people refusing to succumb. For me, coming from the Arab world, these moments always carry mixed feelings. I grew up on a conventional wisdom that denies the Temple ever existed, that erases any Jewish connection to Jerusalem. Learning the truth firsthand is exciting. But it’s also frustrating because I know how many people never will. Illiteracy is rampant across large parts of the Arab world, and entire societies are raised on hatred instead of history. Standing here, stone by stone, the evidence speaks for itself. #jerusalem

The likes of Bob Vylan and Kneecap pose as brave and free speech advocates. At the same time it is Jews, Israelis, Zionists who are cancelled, not those who laud the aims of terrorists. It’s fair to say @BoyGeorge is an imperfect hero (as the best heroes often are) but this is one of the bravest things I’ve seen a celebrity do. Thank you @BoyGeorge
