@Rizabellepow I unsubscribed from all of them aside from Slow Burn, Will Be Wild, and Allies, which aren’t even current event tied. It’s not that I don’t care, I don’t have the bandwidth. I have too many to list here, but up to date on: @upandvanished (both) Truer Crime The Sunshine Place

🚨Today: Truer Crime: Rethinking Justice with Celisia Stanton... True crime is more than just storytelling—it shapes how we understand justice, victims, and the world around us. In this episode, we sit down with Celisia Stanton, the host of Tenderfoot TV's Truer Crime and The Vanishing Point, to discuss how her own experience as a crime victim led her to rethink the way these stories are told. With Truer Crime entering its highly anticipated second season, Celisia shares how she challenges traditional crime narratives, the biggest misconceptions about the justice system, and why ethical storytelling is more important than ever. We also dive into some perplexing cases that will leave you wanting more.. #TruerCrime #TrueCrimeDiscussion #TenderfootTV #TrueCrimePodcast #Missing #laurenmcluskey #martinlutherking youtu.be/rqQRwq2Lf34

@Iosangelesriver @ElSangito Thanks for listening + recommending! We're definitely working on new episodes, but unfortunately everything takes longer than we would like. We're still active at Patreon.com/truercrimepod if you want interviews and mini-podcasts to scratch the Truer Crime itch in the meantime!

are there any examples of good true crime where it’s very openly also an indictment of policing, criminal punishment, etc, where police incompetence and evidence bungling isn’t just written off as bad apple stuff

@kaylafratt @HonkIfUrHoary @CanadianTCpod @SwindledPodcast You should check us out! Celisia (the host/creator) actually started Truer Crime because she was sick of true crime podcasts that ~didn't~ go deep enough, and relied on sensational and pro-cop rhetoric. Listen wherever you get your podcasts and let us know what you think!

Are there any really responsible true crime podcasts I should check out? I used to love Generation Why. Hated My Favorite Murder. Was really disturbed by the ethics of Vigilante. But I drive a lot and like the genre when it’s done well. Also here’s a cicada.

Many of us will act as jurors in our lifetime, but jury nullification is something they won't tell you about when you get called to serve. It's so important that we fully understand the agency + power we hold as community members participating in the criminal legal process!

As Beyond Criminal Courts writes, "it is one approach that we can use, alongside many others, to disrupt the carceral state." If you're intrigued, I highly recommend learning more!

If you've never heard of jury nullification, this toolkit from @CommJusticeExch and @interruptcrim is a great primer. I first learned of the concept as a high school debate coach and I truly believe it's something everyone should know about!
Community Justice Exchange@CommJusticeExch

Ever heard of jury nullification? If not, you're not alone. It's often referred to as a "silent power" - judges and lawyers know jurors have it, but they never say so out loud. So what is it? Check out this🧵for more 1/6
