I would get the Brunson extreme rating shift if he got to the finals and averaged an efficient 29-8-8. Maybe if he played great both ways constantly and finally got a ring. He is neither of those things. Hes a frequent shooting, non passing rebounding or defending guy.

These Brunson haters will do anything to try to bring him down. They are elevating OG and KAT to incredible heights just to do so. I hate that I have to argue against it but it’s just crazy to say that either of them carried.

@Lo_2_7 The Spurs entire defensive scheme was to limit Brunson and force others to beat them. OG hit his open shots when their rotations broke down. Brunson was inefficient in the first two games then went on to drop 37/3/4 on 48% shooting.

@Lo_2_7 It’s clearly at least debatable as the voters unanimously said it was Brunson. OG had a bad Game 5. He was super efficient but that was possible because of Brunson. OG was not creating his own shots. He’s obviously great defensively, but offensively, it all comes from Brunson.

I don’t get why some people are having so much trouble with this. No one thought Jalen Brunson would be as good as he is. We were all wrong. Some said he couldn’t be the best player on a championship team. They were wrong.

Not wasting any time or energy arguing about Brunson with anyone. He has averaged nearly 30 PPG in 61 career playoff games for the Knicks. He just led the Knicks to their first chip in 53 years and outplayed the reigning 2-time MVP against a Spurs team where he had to face one of the league’s best defenders with the unanimous DPOY roaming the paint. He scored 45 of their 94 points on the road to lock up the title. What more do people want?

@SaltyPlato 111 minutes ain’t winning anything. KAT’s foul trouble kept him off the floor, so a big portion of those 209 minutes aren’t normal rotation minutes. It’s Brunson having to play with different lineups and make it work because his co-star was missing.

That close out game is gonna do a lot of heavy lifting for Brunson and he’ll end up being a touch overrated over the next couple seasons. Happened with GA, Jokic and Shai but Brunsons just not an MVP level player despite his production.
