I enjoy listening to "space players" on bass. #JimmyHaslip, #PaulDenman #PinoPallafino, #NathanEast, #NathanWatts, #MelvinDavis, #JohnPattituci, and there are many more I can add.
What I'm talking about is they're use of spacing between the notes to make a statement.

About two weeks ago, I made a post about Grandpa Scott taking part in the 50 Yard Challenge with his grandkids a few years ago and how much the experience meant to him. Well guess what? He signed up two more grandkids, and now he’ll be back out there again making memories, serving the community, and mowing lawns side by side with them. Please help me congratulate Jaylee, Journey Rose, and Grandpa Scott of Cedar Rapids, Iowa on completing their very first lawn together! Years from now, these kids may not remember every lawn they mowed, but they’ll always remember the time spent with their grandfather, the lessons learned, and the lives they impacted together through the 50 Yard Challenge.

And that makes 50 lawns! 🎉 It’s with great pride that I can officially announce that Emmett of Yorktown, Indiana has completed the 50 Yard Challenge after submitting his final and 50th lawn today. Over the last few years, Emmett has shown incredible dedication and a true heart for serving his community. Sometime this month, I’ll be making a trip to the great state of Indiana to personally present him with his brand-new lawn equipment , and I’m looking forward to meeting him and shaking his hand in person. Emmett, congratulations on an incredible accomplishment and thank you for making a difference, one lawn at a time.

To the kid, they may feel like they’re “just mowing a lawn,” but to the homeowner, it can mean so much more. For many elderly individuals, disabled neighbors, veterans, or single parents, keeping up with the yard is something they physically can’t do anymore or simply can’t afford to pay someone to handle. So when a child from our program shows up with a mower and a heart to serve, it brings more than a freshly cut lawn,it brings relief, hope, encouragement, and the reminder that someone in the community still cares. These kids may never fully realize the impact they’re making in the moment, but to the person standing there watching their lawn get mowed for free, it can truly mean the world. Making a difference, one lawn at a time.
