According to Benjamin Ofori, spokesperson for Concerned NPP Traders: "If the party wants victory in the 2028 elections, then the candidature of Bawumia should be CHANGED; else the party will file a candidate and not a president. If they present him, then the party will stay in opposition for 12 years."

My deepest condolences to all my beloved constituents on the painful loss of our gallant NDC Chairman, Comrade C.K. Akaho Tay. As I told his loving family in Mepe yesterday, he was a great strategist, skillful administrator and devoted cadre who worked with me closely to secure many famous victories. Chairman CK has left indelible footprints, and he will always be celebrated. His family and close associates remain in our thoughts and prayers. Yesterday, the Volta Regional Minister, Volta Regional NDC Chairman, the NDC Volta Chairmen’s Caucus, North Tongu Constituency and Branch Executives joined me to extend our commiserations to his family. We also signed a book of condolence. Funeral arrangements shall be announced shortly. The NDC shall honour his memory. May God grant his gentle soul a peaceful repose.
