Life goes in one direction which is forward. That doesn't mean it doesn't go up and down. Pain, loss, and failure are what make life so special. Without pain you would not know the true depths of joy. Without loss, you do not realize how much life and time should be cherished. Without failure, you take success for granted. Life is messy, beautiful and chaotic. Wouldn't have it any other way. I'm an artist at life and my magnum opus will be completed when I take my last breath.

Thanks for the response I agree. There has been some change with Flock but I think the next company will step up or they will just rebrand and keep going. I dont think its getting better. The big issue is that since the 1980s people have lived under growing surveillance and anyone born after 2001 only knows the Patriot Act era and beyond. It keeps increasing so they become indifferent and dont even think about it. That is what happens when it becomes the normal everyday thing. Scary to think what privacy will look like in another 10 years.

I actually agree with you here I don't expect most people to start caring until it's to late. Smart phones didn't start out so malicious and slowly grew into what they are now. People got locked into an ecosystem that slowly changed. Flock seems to have read Orwell and decided it looked like a good idea instead of a warning. Fighting against Flock and its competitors is a war that should be fought. Battles have already been fought and won like LA and numerous other cities either cancelling or lettings their contracts expire. Across the country people are cutting them down. Even flock execs are now doing damage control on X dming larger accounts that are criticising them. You are likely correct that it will stop being a trending topic in the coming days/weeks but I think the people that do care will continue to care. In the mean time why not use the popularity of the topic to advance the fight against them.

18 miles to work: I pass 17 Flock cameras. 18 miles home: I pass 12 Flock cameras. Total: 29 cameras track me and betray my privacy every work day. 1 month ago, it was 12 Flock cameras total. 2 months ago, it was 3 Flock cameras total. In less than 3 months it has gone from 3 to 29!!!!! Flock Safety is creepy and overstepping the 4th amendment protections we have as US citizens. All of these cameras should be taken down.

I'm against government surveillance but I'm just being realistic, not defeatist. This isn't going to change anything. The average person isn't going to switch to GrapheneOS or whatever, so they're gonna keep getting tracked. My whole point to was that most people simply don't care about being surveilled, and I'm not saying that's right, I'm just saying that's the fact of the matter. Thanks to the third party doctrine, good luck getting courts to kill off Flock cameras. They'll just refine it with shorter data retention windows, stricter access rules, and warrant requirements while the surveillance keeps rolling. People will move on to the next shiny problem in a couple months anyway.

@Truthtoopower @codecrackx15 That wasn't the argument. But atleast we know that ignorance is the excuse for mass surveillance that your going with. How noble.

The Pandora's box of widespread surveillance is already open. Given the third party doctrine, growing public indifference, and the practical limits of legal remedies such as warrants for long term location data or shorter retention windows, personal mitigation is the most realistic focus. This is not giving up it is directing effort where it can actually make a difference rather than fighting inevitable trends.

@Truthtoopower @codecrackx15 Thank you for your service. Do you just accept whatever "reality" is, or do you try to shape what the future will look like? I hope you don't just give up and give in. We are not powerless puppets. We collectively create the future. Take action to create the future you want.

Sir, I did two deployments to Afghanistan and had to bury my best friend after the first one. Don't talk to me about what's Un-American. I'm just talking about what the reality is. It's not nihilistic. Bitching online about it isn't solving anything. I'll tell you that much nor is bitching at me.

@Truthtoopower @codecrackx15 Well, your solution seems to be, 'F it - give them everything,' instead of pushing back. That's nihilistic & un-American. Do you want our Constitutional freedoms to mean something? Then stick up for them! Or are you just going to roll over and put up with this escalating BS?

@cumstersmith @codecrackx15 Under the third-party doctrine data shared with carriers or apps can be voluntarily provided to law enforcement without a warrant. For long-term location data spanning weeks or months, law enforcement agencies require a warrant.

No you're just missing my point. If you're going to be upset about flock cameras while willfully just giving away your information. Hard to take you seriously. It's like talking about how bad slavery is while using an iPhone wearing Nikes made in China with other designer brands made in China.

@Truthtoopower @codecrackx15 So, your solution is to increase our surveillance even more? 🤔 Sounds like we already have plenty. And all the ones you listed, we subject ourselves to. Our choice. We can turn them off. Flock is imposed on us. Big difference. Quit licking their boots. That is SO un-American.

@Truthtoopower @codecrackx15 A Faraday bag and Graphene OS solve the phone issues. OpenWRT or OPNSense and vlans can stop smart home devices and tvs from phoning home. I can opt out with those and can't with Flock. Just because your willing to accept the spyware doesn't mean everyone else has to.

@briancryptonix LMFAO. Granting mic camera and library access to apps effectively lets third parties hold the keys making direct warrantless access to that data far easier for law enforcement than searching a locked device. Please do go on though.

Lower income families that have more children look at children as a net asset. Older people with wealth that are trying to have children look at them as an expense. When you look at a child at as an expense you're looking at everything the wrong way. They're a net asset and it's not because of financial reasons.

All the reasons given are laughable look at it. Lower income families have more children so to say you can't financially do it is a lie. The reasons given are for selfish reasons lifestyle constraints, career constraints, financial constraints, home constraints and it's like that doesn't stop poor people. You made these decisions.

Unplanned my ass. Every decision not to have a child earlier in life and every excuse and reason not to led to this. It's not unplanned. It was just always ignored that this was the inevitable outcome. Willful ignorance at best but certainly never unplanned.
Chris Williamson@ChrisWillx

Unplanned Childlessness is the dominant trend of our times. A huge new UN survey concluded that 72% of women and 80% of men aged 35-39 without kids still want them – and that tendency is global. “From my own research, most won’t get the chance – and many people who no longer dream of having a family actually once did.” — @StephenJShaw (“What young adults want and what shapes their decisions about parenthood and relationships: Findings from the Demographic Futures Survey 2026”)
