This is why I don't like helping people! Last week, a friend hit me up saying his rent was due, that he needed to pay URGENTLY or he'd be homeless. Personally, I don't have much, but after some back and forth, I decided to send him what I could spare, about 60% of what he asked for. 2 minutes after I sent it, he replied "But you have more, I just scanned your wallet, please complete it." I was like, I'm not sending you my entire portfolio, go find the rest from someone else. And this guy was actually angry that I refused. THE AUDACITY! But this issue only came up because of how the blockchain works. Anyone with my wallet address can paste it into a block explorer, see my balance, see my trades, see what I got and when I got it, and now feel entitled to it. BUTTT...What if there was a wallet where you could send someone money, and all they see is what you sent them, not your wallet address, or anything that could expose your full balance, your trade history, or your net worth? Turns out, someone actually built exactly that. Well, allow me to introduce you to @UmbraPrivacy. Umbra is a self-custodial wallet built natively on Solana with privacy as the main feature. Friends think they know how much you can afford, clients think they know what everyone else pays you, employees know exactly what their coworkers earn.
