@SandyShores100 @oli_tatty They are entitled to their opinions I didn’t say they werent. What they are not entitled to is to refuse Scotland a say. Would you be okay with London deciding that Newcastle isn’t allowed to decide what Newcastle wants?

@jurgen_nauditt Europe has not developed anti ballistic missile capacity yet… the programmes you have mentioned mostly are cruise missile interceptors or still in development

Ukraine has not shot down any Russian ballistic missiles for nine days—due to a critical shortage of Patriot system ammunition. The last confirmed interception was on July 2. In four years, Europe has failed to resolve the Patriot shortage. That is a bitter reality. Yet, Europe could easily have helped using its own systems: IRIS-T SLM (Germany) – combat-proven; effective against aircraft, drones, and cruise missiles. NASAMS (Norway/USA) – a proven, flexible system; successfully deployed in Ukraine. SAMP/T (France/Italy) – the European counterpart to the Patriot; also capable of intercepting short-range ballistic missiles. Sky Sabre/CAMM (UK) – a modern medium-range air defense system; effective against aircraft, drones, and cruise missiles. Europe failed to do what it could have done: massively ramp up domestic production, replenish stockpiles, and ensure rapid delivery. Instead of reducing reliance on US ammunition, there was too much talk and too little delivery.

If you ask Moscow which Western European nuclear force it takes more seriously as an autonomous strategic actor, the answer would be France, not Britain. Because Paris controls its own sovereign nuclear architecture in terms of missiles, submarines, warheads, doctrine and political command. Britain has the ability to use nuclear weapons, at present, but its Trident system is deeply dependent on the United States, and conditional on continued American cooperation and support.
Chatham House@ChathamHouse

“I can assure you, as somebody who has been in the Kremlin on a number of occasions, I can tell you that the British independent nuclear deterrent is the one thing that moves the dial inside the Kremlin.” George Robertson discusses the impact of the UK’s nuclear deterrent on strategic thinking inside Russia at our 2026 London Conference.

@mpwarwick I mean the type 83 before even really being designed and developed was already looking at a 1b+ price tag per ship

@Tstradesfx Augmenting the destroyer with LUSVs carrying additional missiles isn't the problem. The problem is cutting the 'destroyer' element and pretending it'll be a cheaper solution.

Getting gaslit by our own government, again. It's absurd. The most cost effective way of delivering air defence capability is via conventional destroyers. It consolidates weapons, sensors and decision making on the same platform, with a crew for resilience and flexibility.
UK Defence Journal@UKDefJournal

The MOD says crewed and uncrewed ships together bring more missiles and mass, while the exquisite Type 83 would have meant too few ships for the Navy's tasks. Click image for more. ukdefencejournal.org.uk/uk-outlines-th…

well the UK is 11x the size of Norway or Finland. So you'd think it could acquire at least as many stealth fighters as those tiny countries.
Your grandmother Battleaxe@YBattleaxe15846

@HoyasFan07 I think those are the wrong countries to compare to, because F-35A is their only intended fighter. Italy and Germany offer better comparisons to show the extent of the British lethargy.

@Tstradesfx @GPhapkun76058 @clashreport You claimed 24 billion $ was only for NATO'S air defense project which Turkiye participates. That's a completely separate project from Turkiye's own Steel Dome project which we allocated 24-25 billion usd

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis: Greece already has an agreed €28 billion defense procurement program. I have said many times that we are forced to bear a higher cost than other countries—not only because we want to meet our NATO commitments, but because Greece must always maintain a strong deterrent capability, and that is what we will continue to do. I believe the Greek people understand this sacrifice, because these are resources that could otherwise be spent on other public needs. That is the price of freedom, independence, and protecting our sovereignty and sovereign rights. And as long as I am Prime Minister, we will continue to do exactly that.

@WadePlem Yk FairPlay to the USA team what I will say is the team does seem to be trending upwards. Maybe thanks to the manager you guys have now actually knowing football. However you guys allowed the superiority complex to feed egos too high. Anything can happen in football

Credit where it’s due I talked a lot of shit and Belgium came out and punched us in the mouth, and embarrassed us. Goodluck to them the rest of the tournament and as for the USA, we HAVE to focus on soccer more if we’re going to compete. Was a fun World Cup, see ya in 4 years 🇺🇸

@yendeezy @hewantswealth @LickshotLippy Taking it back to the original tweet it’s the focus on race and ownership instead of a new SEND school for all races, religion and abilities regardless of whatever else. Unfortunate that these things are highlighted before acknowledging the good this does for those kids

@UnrulyBR @hewantswealth You clearly haven’t thought big enough as you’ve taken the opinions of one and applied it to an entire race… there are people like that in every community that want to keep the growth within the community and that’s fine. But what he was saying in my opinion was a extreme
