Hey y'all, Happy New Years! I don't post here much anymore but I'm gonna start using this for more tech and photography stuff hopefully, as I want to get more involved in those spaces as part of my New Years Resolutions :)

Something that may come as a surprise is the fall off of Sova picks, likely due to the rise of Neon and thus a Fade with prowlers to scale with her. We can also recognize the decline of Astra/Viper and rise of Vyse as teams try to adapt to Neon's disrespect of some stall util.

As we head into week 3 for Americas and week 4 for Pacific and EMEA, I put together some visualizations for pickrates between Stage 1 and Kickoff / Santiago. Comes as no surprise Yoru and Waylay declined and Neon skyrocketed to the top. Agents with lower pickrates were left out

What's even more interesting is that Phoenix sports an over 86% non-mirror winrate albeit with only a 16% pickrate and 26 total map picks this stage 1. Something to look out for as the season continues and which teams pick him up.

As everyone knows, Neon leads the agent pickrates with over 30% higher than the next most picked agent Omen. This is backed by a 72% non-mirror winrate meaning her winrate when the opposing team does not play Neon.

I have been possessed and decided to learn some PowerBI. In preparation for launching my VALORANT esports API I also want to display it's capabilities so hopefully as the weeks go on I'll post some more interesting analytics & visuals.

Today I failed an interview for one of my dream jobs (backend swe). Really disappointed in myself and lowk devastated but I prepared as much as I could, not really knowing what kind of questions they would ask. Some takeaways for myself:

I spent too much energy learning about tradeoffs and when to use different algorithms and systems without understanding lower level implementations. I think these concepts like tradeoffs and when to use them will come if I learn more about them at a lower level. gg go next.

Spent too much time solving hard leetcode problems Spent time learning/reviewing networking concepts, system design, OS, and Spring Boot concepts but need to understand things at a lower level Why do dictionaries have constant search time? How does postgres implement indexes?
