Note to my regular trolls who should just about be getting out of bed. Here are some myth busters. Myth - You cannot claim PIP for yourself and claim Carers Allowance to care for someone else. Facts – Yes you can claim PIP and claim Carers Allowance at the same time. There is nothing in Welfare Regulations that prevents this. Myth - There is a benefit cap of £25,323 in London and £22,020 outside of London so it’s impossible for people to claim above £25,323 anywhere in the country. Facts – If one member of the household is on a disability benefit then the whole household is exempt from the benefits cap. To the armchair benefits specialists who think I am wrong please check the Government's own website for the facts. gov.uk/benefit-cap/wh… gov.uk/carers-allowan… I await the trolls comments.
