Ethan Sanchelli (2026 – 1B/OF/RHP – Uncommitted) @E_Sanchelli Sanchelli brings one of the most valuable things in HS baseball: plug-and-play versatility. He can pick up the infield or outfield flawlessly, he can give you competitive innings when needed, and he has a bat that produced on the Canes Scout circuit this summer. When a team has star power — they need glue guys who don’t shrink in the moment. Sanchelli is that dude. Expect him to produce — especially when the Mavericks need a spark.

Jacob Howe (2026 – OF/RHP – Uncommitted) @jacobhowe_04 Size doesn’t matter when you have real baseball feel — and Howe has it. He reminds people inside that region of former Mauldin standout Carson Mirabelli — the kid who always somehow came up big in the right moments. Howe gives consistent quality. He throws strikes, he defends with confidence, and has enough bat strength to do damage to mistakes. These are the players winning programs never forget to value.

Caleb Cox (2027 – C – Uncommitted) Cox is the defensive anchor. He has elite catch/throw ability — verified 1.86 pop time — and he’s only in 2027. His swing is short, flat, and built for line drive damage. What stands out most is how he controls the field. Catcher is a leadership position — and Cox already carries himself like a junior. You don’t run on Mauldin this year — not with this kid back there.

CJ Edwards (2028 – OF – Uncommitted) @CJ3Sport Edwards is one of the cleanest young lefty swings in the state. Right now he’s the top OF in South Carolina’s 2028 class — and that ranking makes sense. He hit nearly .450 with 2 HR at WWBA this year. This is a name everyone better learn sooner than later — because the talent is undeniable.

Daniel Zeleznik (2026 – LHP – Uncommitted) @DanielZelez18 Mid 80s lefty with carry, movement, and projection — a perfect match for Coach Corn’s development style. He competes, he throws strikes, and he’s right on the brink from becoming one of the most intriguing uncommitted 2026 lefties in the Upstate. By midseason — this is a kid whose name could start showing up on college radars fast.

Season Outlook Mauldin is going to make noise — and some of it may come from names we haven’t even heard yet, and I’m sure those names will make HUGE waves across the state. They will compete in the Opterra Invitational this preseason — matching up with programs like Lexington, River Bluff, Blythewood, Batesburg-Leesville, Indian Land, etc. That’s going to tell us a LOT about who this team is.

Tucker Rice (2027 – OF/RHP – Uncommitted) @TuckRice Rice has a chance to take a massive jump this year — especially under a pitching coach like Corn. Already up to 88 MPH with deception in his delivery, and hitters consistently swing under him. There are few things more dangerous than a high-motor kid with projection + a good pitching coach. Rice can impact this team on the mound and in the lineup — that’s a winning profile.
