On Monday, March 30, all @cityoftucson offices will be closed in observance of Dolores Huerta Day. All public transit will operate on a regular schedule. Emergency services and trash pickup will also continue as usual. Regular services will resume on Tuesday, March 31.

🚗 Traffic Impact: Westbound Grant Rd (between the freeway and just east of Flowing Wells Rd) will be reduced to 1 lane for crew and driver safety. ⏱️ Important: This lane restriction is ONLY for one day. Schedule may change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances

🚧 Upcoming Lane Restriction – Grant Rd & Union Pacific Railroad 🌵 On Saturday, April 4, 2026, crews working with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility will be removing plants and landscaping in the median to prepare for future construction work.

Starting Mon, March 23: Roadwork at Park Ave & 36th St in Tucson. 🚧 West side of the intersection will be closed for ~2 weeks. Park Ave stays open NB/SB only. 36th St limited to local traffic (4th St → Park Ave). Drive safe: slow down, watch for crews, and avoid distractions.

🚧 March 25: Construction begins at the new 6th & Church intersection for the final phase of Downtown Links Project ❌ No WB Church (Perry → Main)
❌ No NB Church access past Franklin ✅ Franklin (Stone → Perry) open for business/residential access. About a month to complete

Projects in the Collector Street Program are funded separate from Proposition 411 tax revenues, including Highway User Revenue Funds (HURF) and General Funds. An initial collector street project plan was approved by the Independent Oversight and Accountability Commission Feb 2023

“Collector” meaning streets like San Juan Trail that connect neighborhoods to major arterial roads like Mission Road.  🌵

This is how we do it – Prop 411 Collector Street Program edition! 🚗🚲 As part of Prop 411, the @cityoftucson Mayor and Council approved a five-year Collector Street Program for street improvements.

Construction on Park Avenue is part of voter-approved Prop 101 – Tucson Delivers: Better Streets, funding major roadway rehabilitation and construction in Tucson. This project includes major water system upgrades, ADA improvements, and a full reconstruction of the roadway.

This closure is expected to take about 2 months to complete. Once this work is complete, construction activities will begin on the southbound lane and only northbound travel will be permitted within the project limits. This work is also scheduled to take around 2 months.

Traffic Alert! Park Avenue Lane Restrictions, 22nd St to 36th St. Starting next Wednesday, March 25, the northbound lane of Park Ave, from 22nd to 36th will be closed to travel. This closure ensures the safety of drivers and crews removing pavement and installing a waterline.

An emergency closure of Congress, from Granada Ave to Church Ave, will take place today until around 4 p.m., as crews remove a damaged Overhead Catenary System (OCS) pole from the streetcar route. A bus bridge is in place while the Sun Link Streetcar is out of service.

🚧 Traffic Alert: Starting Mon, Mar 9, at 12 a.m. there will be no westbound access on Speedway west of Main Ave. After 5 a.m. the roadway will be restricted to 1 lane, for about 3 weeks, while storm drain repairs are done. Access to I-10 stays open. Expect delays in the area.

DOWNTOWN NIGHT CLOSURE 🚨 On Thursday, March 5, E 13th Street, between S 5th Ave and S 6th Ave, will be closed 9 pm - 5 am. This lets crews to haul in roof sections for Armory Park. There will be no parking signs in the area and law enforcement to assist with traffic control.
