The Waipahu Street Arch Bridge is closed until further notice. Recent Kona Low storms caused major damage. Both ends of the bridge are undermined and the wooden support piles are exposed. This historic bridge, built in 1905 over Waikele Stream, remains an important part of our community. Divers are currently inspecting the structure and measuring the condition of the timber piles. The City Department of Design and Construction is working on repairs. Safety is the priority. Mahalo for your patience. We will share updates as we get them.
