The rest of the story: On March 18, 2026, Tulsa Police were contacted by Walmart regarding a series of thefts involving high-end electronics. MEDICAL INCIDENT RESPONSE On March 18, 2026, around 10:50 p.m., Tulsa Police Officers responded to a call about a driver who was stopped in an intersection near 41st and 177th East Ave. The driver rolled through a stop sign but stopped her truck in the intersection and wasn’t responsive. Officers arrived and started talking with the 66-year-old driver, who said she was OK, but appeared to be having difficulty communicating. She refused to open the door or roll down the window. Officers could see her brake lights on, suggesting her truck was still in drive and her foot was on the brake. Due to the potential risk to public safety, Officers formulated a plan to block her truck with their patrol vehicles and block nearby traffic. Officers contacted her family, who arrived at the scene to help convince her to come out. Finally, she unlocked the door and started to come around. Paramedics arrived and quickly diagnosed her with having critically low blood sugar. Her family took her to the hospital for further evaluation. Great work by all the Officers on the scene for recognizing that this woman was in medical distress and for handling this delicate situation with the care she needed. #TulsaPolice

HOMICIDE ARREST On March 18, 2026, at approximately 3:35 p.m., Tulsa Police officers responded to a reported shooting at a trailer park near 2400 N. Fulton Ave. Officers found 26-year-old Alexis Diaz-Vasquez deceased in the driveway next to his vehicle, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The initial 911 call came from a concerned friend who had been unable to reach the victim by phone and went to check on him. Through a thorough investigation, Detectives got a lead on a suspect vehicle. Utilizing FLOCK and our RTIC, investigators quickly identified a suspect vehicle. Officers searched the area where it last hit and located the vehicle near 51st and Memorial, where 20-year-old Wiyler Cabrera Abreu was taken into custody without incident. Abreu had reportedly borrowed a large sum of money from Diaz-Vasquez and was repeatedly asked to repay the debt. Abreu later contacted Diaz-Vasquez, stating he had the money and would come to repay him. Evidence indicates Abreu arrived at the location in the suspect vehicle, and engaged in a conversation with Diaz-Vasquez in the driveway. Abreu attempted to repay the debt using counterfeit movie prop currency. When Diaz-Vasquez recognized the money as fake, an argument ensued, resulting in Abreu shooting Diaz-Vasquez. During an interview at the Detective Division, after providing several inconsistent statements, Abreu admitted to being present at the scene and shooting Diaz-Vasquez, though he did not provide a clear motive. Abreu was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on charges of First Degree Murder. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Tulsa Crime Stoppers at (918) 596-COPS This is an arrest and not a conviction.

The woman, 60-year-old Venus Brown, got into a gray Chrysler Town & Country minivan and left the scene. The clerk gave Officers a partial tag number and they tracked down a minivan matching the description near Pine and Peoria. Officers initiated a traffic stop and took Brown into custody without incident. Brown did not have a gun despite her threats to the clerk.
