Two old dog siblings, a brother and sister, lost their owner. A family member of their owner took them out of the house, and they wandered in the street, hungry and thirsty, still hoping that their human owner would come back and take them along again.
The most loving thing is that they didn’t become separate from each other. They had lost everything except for the company of each other. When the rescue team arrived, they were trying to separate them, but they clung to each other; they had formed a strong bond that lasted their whole lives.
The shelter people also knew they didn’t want to go home; they only wanted one home where they could stay together.
Then we met them.
When I went to the kennel, they came to me and then looked for each other, as if asking if they would stay together this time too.
We took them home.
And we couldn’t give them a life like the one they had with their human, but we promised them that we will keep them in our loving life.
They will grow old together safely and with love.

On the eve of #WHA79, we gathered at Place des Nations in remembrance. The names in the Lost Screen Memorial are not statistics. They’re children. We are facing public health crisis in youth mental health, created by multiple factors, including a lack of digital safety. We can prevent harm, through rigorously enforced protections and design standards. We can mitigate harm, through crisis response, family support, and affordable and timely access to care. And we can coordinate globally. This memorial must be a call for collective action to ensure digital spaces support health rather than undermine it. My gratitude to Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, and the Archewell Philanthropies, for their leadership and commitment.

A puppy was brought to the shelter, paralyzed with fear. A sweet lonely pup Lucy who was also waiting for a forever home took to her immediately, they formed a bond and clung together. The shelter decided to only adopt the two of them together as a pair. Happily, one of the volunteers at the shelter fell in love with them both and is taking them home today.
