Daniel W. Green, MD, MS, FACS, Chief of Pediatric Orthopedics at HSS, had the honor of participating in a private audience with @Pontifex at the Vatican as part of the Patrons of the World’s Children Hospital delegation. Dr. Green joined Fabrizio Arengi Bentivoglio, HSS Board of Advisors Member and President of the Patrons. The visit highlighted HSS’s role in a global initiative dedicated to expanding pediatric healthcare access in developing countries and regions where medical resources for children are limited. During the meeting, the Patrons presented Pope Leo XIV with a TELADOC LITE telemedicine system—a next‑generation device designed to connect clinicians and pediatric patients through advanced telehealth capabilities. A live demonstration, linking to a clinical site in Argentina, showcased the system’s potential to support high‑quality care regardless of geography. The Patrons delegation, which helps coordinate the Pope’s Global Alliance for the Health and Humanitarian Care of Children, aims to improve outcomes for roughly one million children worldwide.
