@TurambarTW To me, the hook is simplicity. You only use the left stick to move, no other buttons, then try not to die while exponentially maneuvering and killing literally thousands of things. Oh and the Castlevania homages are abundant and the music slaps.

Hadn't played Vampire Survivor yet and kind of stuck my nose up at it a bit. Looks too low effort whatever it is. Finally fired it up, played it for 10 hours in a 24 hour period. Could tell it was great in the first 30 seconds of gameplay, no lie. I was like... oooohh I see...
