I'd be more inclined towards building two 4-reactor power plants in separate cities instead of one 8-reactor one, for various reasons such as employment, regional development and strategic variety. So a 4th 4-reactor NPP in Trabzon or Rize would be more preferable to a giant 8-reactor one in Trakya. Eastern #BlackSea region also happens to be pretty safe in terms of earthquake risk.

🕌 MUSLIM SCIENTISTS 🔬 ― Introducing #MeteAtatüre from Türkiye... Turkish physicist Professor Mete Atatüre has made a groundbreaking contribution to #QuantumOptics by achieving a long-elusive feat: directly observing and measuring quadrature squeezing in individual #photons of light scattered from a single artificial atom. In a 2015 study published in Nature, #Atatüre and his team at the University of #Cambridge's Cavendish Laboratory demonstrated this phenomenon using a semiconductor quantum dot—an engineered "artificial atom" with optical properties far superior to natural atoms, enabling roughly 100 times better photon detection rates. Squeezed light reduces #quantum noise (uncertainty) in one property of light—such as its amplitude—below the standard quantum limit set by vacuum fluctuations, at the expense of increased uncertainty in a complementary property (like phase). This "squeezing" effect, a hallmark of non-classical quantum behavior, had been theorized but was considered practically unobservable in single-photon resonance fluorescence from a two-level system, with some textbooks even deeming it impossible. The experiment showed a 3% reduction in the #electricfield quadrature variance below the vacuum limit, while preserving photon antibunching (a signature of single-photon emission). This result not only confirms fundamental quantum predictions but also opens pathways for ultra-precise measurements, potentially benefiting technologies like gravitational wave detection and quantum information processing. Atatüre's broader work in solid-state quantum optics—including spin-photon interfaces in semiconductors and diamond—has advanced quantum technologies for sensing, communication, and computing. For these pioneering contributions, particularly in quantum optical phenomena in semiconductors and #diamond, he received the prestigious #ThomasYoungMedal and Prize from the Institute of #Physics in 2020, becoming the first Turkish physicist to earn this honor. Born in 1975 in #Kayseri, Türkiye, Atatüre excelled early, ranking in the top 500 in the national university entrance exam. Pakistan’ın Türkiye ve diğer kardeş Körfez ülkeleriyle olan sarsılmaz dayanışmasını yeniden teyit ettim ve gerilimin azaltılması ve diyalog için gösterilen tüm çabalara destek vermeye hazır olduğumuzu ilettim. Her ikimiz de azami düzeyde ılımlı olunması çağrısında bulunduk ve anlaşmazlıkların diyalog ve diplomasi yoluyla çözülmesi gerektiğini vurguladık. Ayrıca Afganistan’daki duruma dair görüş alışverişinde bulunduk ve Türkiye'nin Pakistan ile Afganistan arasında barış kurulması çabalarını desteklemedeki yapıcı rolünü, özellikle de bayram günlerinde ilan ettiğimiz geçici ateşkese olan son katkılarını takdirle karşıladığımı belirttim. Aynı zamanda, her ikimiz de karşılıklı çıkar alanlarımızın tümünde gerçekleştirmekte olduğumuz ikili iş birliğimizde görülen olumlu ivmeden dolayı memnuniyet duyduğumuzu ifade ettik.
