@F1WDC2021 That shows your lack of understanding the NLS regulations. There is no limit of tyre usage over a single (in this case qualifying) session. The total usage over the whole event is limited. So your scenario is just dumb.

Image if the Merc AMG #GT3 tyre counting 'human error' had been spotted after qualifying and before the race. We might have all had the opportunity to witness SuperMax start at the back of the grid and fight his way to victory. Lost opportunity. 😔

@RedMistNJ @AlexBrundle Nah, they only used 6 set competitively. 2 Qualifying stints and 4 race stints.

@AlexBrundle It’s always not good to see a car getting disqualified. However, one full set of tires in a 4 hour race is a huge advantage, wondering what position they would have ended with 6-sets.

Team say Verstappen tyre error was made in routine driver and tyre changes during qualifying. Teams rotate tyres and drivers simply to practice changing them all at once. Somewhere in there an extra set has been introduced. Shame after a great performance from all involved. Tyre limit in NLS is a full event limit across race and qualifying.
