This was what everyone wanted or thought the Disney era would be.
The overall direction & philosophy of the show was bad. Overshadowed the good stories. Starts with new voices. Writers from expanded media & beyond.

@Turtle_Dustin I’ve seen portions of the show.
Like that scene where Stormfront got her ass whooped by Kimiko, Maeve, and Starlight. I loved that scene; I watched it on repeat.
But I wasn’t regularly watching the show. I do know about most of the characters and their whole deals at least.

I’m reminded of how in pro wrestling, some fans frequently get behind heels (villains) because they find them more interesting and entertaining than babyfaces (good guys) who are often comparatively considered boring.
I feel like this tends to apply to other media too.

@FearlessRiOT I remember when those checks meant something. I guess they still do just more negative than it's the real celebrity or brand.
The Boys is one of those I never got into. Mostly because it was about bad guys and not real heroes. From my understanding at least.

@Turtle_Dustin Yup, a lot of people pointed that out when responding to that tweet too. That bad guys already win all the time in real life, so outside of “reflecting our reality” reasons, why would anyone want to see them win in fiction that much too?

@Turtle_Dustin That’s true. Wrestling is linear enough that villains winning sometimes makes sense for their never-ending storytelling.
Movies and TV shows need to end eventually, and it’s supposed to end with good triumphing over evil most of the time. The opposite would be just miserable.
