hot take i guess but deltarune should be more difficult. been replaying the game again and while the story is fun i realized how much it carries the experience as the main game is just like way too easy. the most fun parts are the really difficult bosses but theres not that many

Okay, there's a difference between a boss that is genuinely difficult and a difficulty spikes in an already easy game. Okumura is the latter. He is not impossible but his type of mechanics rarely show up later in the game and ultimately don't add anything to combat.

FF16 was such a bait-and-switch. We all thought it was returning to classic FF roots with the more pure-medieval setting, until the game came out and it turned out to be a cynical attempt to cash in on Game of Thrones' popularity, but had come out long after GoT had shot itself in the foot and people had started to hate it. Still not the worst bait-and-switch the franchise ever pulled. That was FF7 Remake.
