Just received this new book. The author re-reads the anti-caste Indian thinker Ambedkar who theorized Nietzsche as a proto-fascist philosopher but read him parasitically to destroy the caste system.

When class antagonisms become undeniable liberalism goes into a crisis, its entire capacity to be effective is upset because as an ideology liberalism is about keeping class conflict covered over. Its two planks of covering over are there is no class, only personal failure or group pathology. These planks are extremely sticky ideological anchors that capitalist market dominated societies rely on to re-route and obfuscate social reality.

I learned today from @RobertTally that Rick Roderick, the guy that did those amazing philosophy lectures in the 90s that you've likely seen on YouTube, had very true and real socialist politics & was a big IWW sort of guy. And he referred to himself as a Marxist in Texas. Stay tuned for a full interview on this with Robert Tally soon!

I am a US citizen & Surgeon who took care of the Boston Maraton Bombing victims in 2013. I paid for 7 years to own a small apartment in downtown #Beirut for my 3 kids to enjoy summers there. Today, #Israel reduced my dream home to rubble, with american weapons, paid by my taxes.

A couple years ago I went to a party in an apartment in Beirut very similar to this building. We got too loud and a neighbor called the cops. Everyone turned the music down and shut up when the cops came and they left. It felt like any American city. This is unbelievable that a complex would be leveled like this!

Copjec's books have been remarkably good over the years especially Imagine There's No Woman. When I discovered her journal Umbr(a) I felt it was the most impressive journal of Lacanian theory ever created. Her latest book Cloud pulls together many years of work on Islamic philosophy and Lacanian thought. I remember how important this issue of Umbr(a): Islam was to me back when it first came out!

An underappreciated aspect of Kent’s resignation letter is his claim that his wife, Shannon, died “in a war manufactured by Israel.” She was killed in 2019 while serving in Navy intelligence in northeast Syria.
An increasingly common belief in American anti-war discourse is that the GWOT as a whole, not just this latest conflict in Iran, was manufactured by, or fought for, Israel. After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.
