Young Professionals, Teachers, Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Accountants etc. have to pay membership fees to professional bodies like SACE, HPCSA, LPC, ECSA and SAICA, even when they are UNEMPLOYED. The EFF is demanding parliamentary intervention to STOP this unjust practice!

Werner Francois Smith has been defrauding SARS for DECADES‼️ He sets up shallow online learning platforms offering lousy certifications through fake learnerships advertised on Facebook/WhatsApp, targeting desperate unemployed youth. He registers numerous shell companies via CIPC, lures participants with promises of free or low-effort online courses/certifications (often 12-month programs) and pays them a small monthly stipend of around R400 for “data allowance.” Youth submit their full personal documents (IDs, bank details, etc.) for “registration,” unaware that these are used to falsely list them as proper employees earning much higher salaries on payroll records.

I want to add another layer. Previous posts on Musk's election interference just disappear on X. The "free speech" warrior has thin skin. But I'm stubborn😝. I previously wrote that @GovernmentZA @PresidencyZA @TauParks @DIRCO_ZA and everyone else involved in the Starlink decision have a duty to widen the lense and not just make commercial considerations. National security and a healthy democracy are now relevant to the Starlink decision. Why? 1) The Georgia State Election Board formally reprimanded Musk for violating state law after sending partially pre-filled absentee ballot applications. That is voters fraud It is attempting to steal elections. 2) In the US, he has also used substantial political funding and platform influence in state-level races, including judicial contests. The most controversial was the 2025 Wisconsin Supreme Court election. Musk poured millions to get Brad Schimel elected. He lost. 3) In 2023 Musk clashed with Brazil’s Supreme Court during a volatile post-election period. He was accused of destabilising democratic institutions by amplifying disinformation. 4) In the 2025 German Federal election, Musk publicly endorsed the far right patty (AfD) and placed opinion pieces on X and local newspapers. German officials accused him of trying to influence the election. So, the SA government has a duty to safeguard our democracy. They cannot ignore these proven case studies. A narrow focus on business transactions and licensing would ignore the stark reality that Musk is a political animal. He is not shy to use money to undermine democracy. SA cannot afford that and our government must demonstrate how it plans to insulate our institutions from a tech billionaire's interests.

The great irony is that, as deeply racialised as South Africa is, none of the public objection to Starlink has anything to do with his race and everything to do with who he has revealed himself to be. Jeff Bezos, also white, also American, also male, also seeking to enter the satellite internet business in South Africa, has attracted no public backlash. Why is that? White grievance politics do not land with South Africans, and this is across racial groups. MAGA-style victimhood narratives do not land in South Africa. Narratives aimed at racial polarisation do not land in South Africa. A se mo States mo. Someone (I have my suspicions who) told him a “Is IT beCkwaz ahM wHaTh” campaign on social media would get him an ICASA license and the special treatment he feels entitled to. Ya? Not regulatory compliance and good-faith engagement? Very little chance now, if any, that Starlink will do business in South Africa. Congratulations, you played yourself.

Starlink has committed to a R500 million investment to connect 5,000 rural schools with free, high-speed internet, benefiting more than 2.4 million learners each year. But it is still on hold. Why? Because South African regulations require 30% local Black ownership for telecom licenses. South African farmers and rural communities are asking the government to approve Starlink. In many remote areas, there is no internet access at all, and people have to drive several kilometers just to get basic connectivity. The South African government is the enemy of its own people.

🚨 High Court Sends Shockwave Through Traffic Departments A motorist caught speeding was arrested—but he fought back in court… and won. Here’s the takeaway: The judge ruled that speeding alone isn’t enough to justify an arrest if the driver is cooperative. If the cops can identify you and know where you live, the law requires them to issue a summons or a fine, not throw you in the back of a van. Cuffing someone just to “teach them a lesson”? That’s officially a violation of your rights. This ruling puts a leash on officers who think a badge gives them the right to play judge and jury on the highway. You’ll still pay fines for breaking the speed limit—but being hauled off for a non-violent traffic offense is over, if you follow the rules. A big win for civil liberties, and a blunt reminder: the law applies to everyone—including the authorities. #ForeverYenaNews #TrafficLaw #JusticeSystem #KnowYourRights

Matt Damon says Netflix wants movies to restate "the plot three or four times in the dialogue" to account for viewers being on their phones: “The standard way to make an action movie that we learned was, you usually have three set pieces. One in the first act, one in the second, one in the third,” Damon explained. “You spend most of your money on that one in the third act. That’s your finale. And now they’re like, ‘Can we get a big one in the first five minutes? We want people to stay. And it wouldn’t be terrible if you reiterated the plot three or four times in the dialogue because people are on their phones while they’re watching.’” variety.com/2026/film/news…
