I’ve just opened a Famiglia Pasqua Amarone della Valpolicella 2012 On the nose, it’s deep and brooding: black cherry, dried plum, tobacco leaf, and a touch of dark chocolate. The first sip is lush, with velvety tannins and a long, slow finish that carries notes of fig, espresso, spice, and a hint of vanilla from the oak. This 2012 vintage has clearly had enough time to settle into itself. Everything feels integrated — the fruit, the structure, the acidity — all in balance. #wine
