@Fumetsu_No_Tora @ANoNameXworker If the only value you bring is knowing how to use your tools (brushes, Photoshop, etc.), then your work isn’t that valuable either. Every artist masters tools. You’re gatekeeping while coping. Clients choose results + speed.

it sounds like you think a bit too highly of yourself and the skills involved in what you do. It is possible to bring higher value to ai generated work, but it requires actually knowing art. That aside, you are misjudging where your value comes from and why people would hire you. Disengage from the idea that you're doing something other people can't do. That's silly and just an ego stroke. It's a matter of time and how you value it. A person who only wants a specific idea done as well as it can be done will put their money in hiring you if learning to do the thing themselves would be more costly than just paying you. The same applies to regular art, but with higher time investment. If the only value that you bring is knowing how to use the tool then the value of your work is not that high. I'd advise you to still study and learn the traditional way of making whatever it is you're generating, be it visual art, music, writing, etc. It'll bring more value to your offering than just the knowledge someone can pick up in a weekend.

I have had multiple people order commissions from me, knowing full well I use AI. People want to see their ideas come to life, looking the best they can, and not having to wait 6-7 months for the artist to consider getting around to it. And before "hurr durr they can just do it themselves with AI", they've tried and can't. Because higher end work with AI requires more than just going to chat gpt and asking for x in y.
