The Lady Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch The Lady Mayor launched this year’s Big Curry Lunch appeal in Guildhall this morning . The lunch itself will take place on 16 April at Guildhall. More details to follow.

The Opening of the Veterans’ Garden The Prime Warden, Colonel Jane Davis OBE OStJ QVRM TD DL, and the Chairman of the Charity Committee, Court Assistant Sheldon Shapiro, attended the opening of the Veterans’ Garden at Guildhall Yard this morning. Brollies not required!

London Poppy Day The Prime Warden Blacksmith is volunteering to sell poppies for the Royal British Legion at Mansion House tube station today. The Clerk was her first customer!

The Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths is delighted to announce the election and installation yesterday evening of our first ever female Prime Warden: Colonel Jane Davis OBE OStJ QVRM TD DL. Many congratulations and best wishes for the coming year.

Congratulations to our new Companions! We are delighted to announce that the following have been recognised for their outstanding service to the craft of blacksmithing by the award of Companion of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths: Ms Del Done MBE and Ms Lucy Quinnell.

The after-dinner entertainment on the Friday evening was a series of casino tables. Fortunately it was all Monopoly money, so no bank accounts were harmed, and the winner was Josh Masey, closely followed by Sheree Gibson and the Consort Debbie Abraham.

The group very much appreciated the work by the Prime Warden Mark Abraham and his Consort Debbie to organise such an enjoyable weekend. There were even some prizes, and the overall winner of the combined archery and clay pigeon shooting was Cameron Pearson.

And after a wash and brush-up, we met for pre-prandials in the delightful Tudor Hall of the hotel before dinner.

25 members and guests of the Blacksmiths’ Company gathered at the weekend for the Prime Warden’s Weekend. The events based in Northamptonshire included clay pigeon shooting, archery and a visit to a museum/art gallery. The group captured here after the outdoor activities:

The Company was also delighted that the signing ceremony was witnessed by our Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress and a representative from each of our affiliated military units.

The Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths is delighted to become the 40th Livery Company to sign the Armed Forces Covenant. The signatories were the Prime Warden, Mark Abraham, and Lieutenant General Simon Hamilton CBE.

Countdown to the Blacksmiths’ Annual Banquet We are really looking forward to our upcoming Company Annual Banquet at Mansion House on Friday 28 March. This year’s event is even more special as it will be our first with a Mother Company Lord Mayor

Launch of the 2025 Veteran’s Garden The Prime Warden, the Chairman of the Charity Committee and the Clerk attended the launch of the Veteran’s Garden in Guildhall Yard this morning. The garden will remain open until 10 April, the date of the Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch.
