We inspected a selection of woodlands in November six years ago, & obviously none had Bluebells, & none of the property listings made reference to them Big mistake, as we could see evidence of them in one. We still cried the next April when this happened in our new woodland

My meats are not halal. As a farmer I appreciate the diversity we have in the uk- but the labelling is something else. I get SO MANY comments saying people have just stopped buying uk farmed meats because they don’t know the method of slaughter. Whether you want halal or not, the supermarket needs to label the products so we know and British farmers can sell more meats and less imported meats. youtu.be/g6ul0QvQVhA?si…

The huge increase in #skylarks across #sussex low land, ⁦⁦@sdnpa⁩ ⁦⁦& many other parts of Uk farmland should be celebrated more. They used to be unusual to see but now everywhere in numbers, the facts are on the farms not in the media. ⁦@NESussexandKent

Things scientists have blamed for climate change since 2020: - Beef - Dairy - Lamb - Wool production - Cheese - Leather - Burping cows - Sheep on hillsides - The British uplands generally Things scientists have not been given equivalent grant funding to investigate: - 100 companies producing 71% of global emissions - Aviation doubling since 1990 - Container shipping running on bunker fuel - Data centres consuming more electricity than entire countries - Fast fashion producing 10% of all carbon emissions annually - $13 trillion in annual fossil fuel subsidies Gerald's methane budget for the year: about 100kg. Estimated annual emissions of a single superyacht: 7,000 tonnes. One of these has a lobby group. Spoiler: it's not Gerald.

"We were proud of our river. It was fringed by trees. If you climbed down to the water's edge you were quite invisible from the meadow above you. Here the air was cool and richly scented. The water moved with unhurried dignity." ~C.R.Milne #worldwaterday

I’ve been taking some much needed time out and getting on top of things like my health and some boat maintenance. I totally went off grid and lived as if it was 1950’s. Just my radio. I had to share how lovely Spring has been here. It’s slow, it’s gentle and it’s all I want now❤️

Daffodils and birch both fresh today. Crown Devon vase (charity shop find) straight out of the 1930’s. It seems to work.

After Peregrines and Kingfishers, I went to Richmond Park in Glasgow to see what I could see. As I left there to head for the train home, Otter popped up to give me a good hard stare as I crossed the River Clyde.

Came across this quite tall silver birch, but it still had the posts and straps on. Cut it free, the posts had rotted off at ground level. Many dead trees with the bands still on. Great to save this one. No one checked here years ago it's so annoying

I love Primulas. And always at the top of my list would be Marie Crousse, with her scented double blooms, in Parma-violet, splashed with white. Ever reliable, and increases well.
