Good news from ECOFIN today! EU Finance Ministers have agreed to our proposal to remove the customs exemption for low-value parcels coming into the EU. From now on, all parcels will go through standard customs procedures. This is a key step to better manage the surge in small packages, particularly from China. We ensure fair competition, stronger enforcement, and better consumer protection across the EU. We will support Member States on immediate transitional measures. @EUCouncil

@vonderleyen You want to encourage EU citizens to buy from within the EU? Start with forcing all businesses that are operating from here to ship their products to the entire EU rather than only within their own country's borders.

@EU_Taxud Where do I, an EU citizen, object to this anti-consumer measure? I do not import from China - I import (second hand!) goods, that I cannot buy in the EU, from the USA and Japan for my 𝗛𝗢𝗕𝗕𝗬 yet you are punishing me for it? How is this fair?

Voor iedereen die FF16 nu vet vindt om de worldbuilding: die is gedaan door dezelfde gozer verantwoordelijk voor 14. En die wereld is nog dieper en slimmer uitgewerkt, want de game is inmiddels huge. Gratis te spelen, helemaal singleplayer. Ik zie jullie wel ingame. 👋
