@that_kind_oforc That might have just been a blurb oversight since it was changed relatively quickly after Blizzcon. Either way, during the panels it was definitely stated that they’re recent arrivals to Khaz Algar and I feel that takes precedence over a website description.

I know* (speculate) this is set up for Avalorn as a patch zone, but this feels like an extra layer of complexity, and the marketing has been confusing with the Arathi because werent they were originally described as being underground in hallowfall for thousands of years?

*Very* interesting revelation, Hallowfall isn't the basis of the Arathi in the slightest, it's an expedition site that only set out 15 years ago. The Arathi Empire still exists somewhere out there, in a totally separate location, and *that* is where all the half elves are from.

Another thought: the official website originally said the Arathi had been there for *centuries* before their entry was completely rewritten, so it seems like there was a major rewrite of their story pre-alpha. Those kind of big pivots have a mixed history of working out.

@Portergauge It was mentioned during Blizzcon that they’re remnants of an expedition from the main Arathi kingdom that is based in an unknown location somewhere, and that they arrived relatively recently, but I didn’t realize it’d be THAT recent

Got my copy of War of the Scaleborn. It was opens with a map of pre-sundering Dragon Isles, which confirms the Broodlands is the original name for the Dragon Isles in their entirety, not just the Waking Shores, as had been debated due to the Veritistrasz quests in the past.
