Good morning ☀️ it’s a great day to save lives

I was on that road further up. I crossed in front of the tornado right before it crossed the road. I was in the debris circulation. Then I turned left to go north and almost ran into it again, but got stuck in the mud on a minimum maintenance road. The mud probably saved me! however, the time I spent getting un-stuck delayed me enough to just miss the Greenfield tornado. :( Still a good chase day though.

#OTD 2 years ago we got extremely close to the Carbon, IA tornado with unspeakable before spotting Greenfield on the horizon before this tornado had one of the sickest rope outs I’ve ever seen w/@MesoMax919 #IAwx

Maybe it's time for SpotterNetwork to discontinue providing chaser location data? You know damn well many of the chasers out there are just "following the dots" because they have no idea how to forecast or pick a target themselves. So they look to see where their favorite storm chaser is and then go there and follow them. If SN discontinued the chaser location feed, it would be interesting to see how many of these "chasers" even function without the DOTS! just a thought!

I hate coming off as a sour grape, I’ve always been a proponent of freedom to chase, but honestly we need to ask our selfs, are we at the breaking point as a group of people? I’ve always prided myself as a first responder first and foremost. The last 3 days has the mouse in my head turning the wheel, is it time to figure out a way for LEO/Fire to differentiate those of us who are experienced and here for good? Idk, I’ve been kicking some ideas around in my head, one of those is making an association of some sort. We have been working on the idea for a while (summit staff) it’s became a public safety hazard on some days, maybe we need to fix this from within before another legislative body attempts to takes it from us again.
