Ep. 8 was a bit of a letdown, tbh.
The show's strength has always been less to do with the AI lore and more to do with the psychological and social depth of the characters coping with existential issues.
Making Caine have a crashout and "hacking" the code are distractions.

The first trilogy of RE games are amazing because each subsequent one clearly iterates on previous entries.
RE2 adds multiple intersecting scenarios and an expanded city with a miniboss who follows you in scripted scenes.
RE3 adds Nemesis who follow you EVERYWHERE.

Code Veronica is the only RE game I've never felt the itch to play a second time, sadly. Parts of it such a chore.

Code Veronica really does feel like the proper Resident Evil 3. I know it’s a tired statement, but this is my first time playing. It pushes the story forward and is far more compelling. It brings enhanced camera movement, 3D environments and overall higher production values.
