Imagine it is -6 degrees and a charity has found the money for two men to get off the street and spend a night at a hotel. And then you are turned away because of “company policy””. Welcome to the Holiday Inn Express in Manchester, where this happened. The chain is happy to take small boat migrants from Africa but not those who have fallen on bad times in the UK. The pair of men were even accompanied by a member of the charity who put down a deposit, as well as paying the room rate. Where is the compassion? Two tier Britain on display again.
