@podRetired @TwolvesBlog I don't think they understand that positionless basketball is just basketball. The positions are so casual fans have an expectation what to expect on the floor.

Been a few weeks thinking through matters…and the Wolves can’t go into next season with an incomplete team. They have to do something. Maybe it’s LBJ but that feels so lofty. The big one is Rudy, who is getting dicey age wise. Can’t wait too long there. Might be the right time.

@Perrywinkle1267 I could see that too. All roads lead back to roster imbalance. They just need another front court player in the mix. Whether it’s Rudy out or other means.

@TwolvesBlog The difference between Rudy and Randle is that Rudy is an actually complimentary player on this team, and has shown a willingness to take pay cuts to stick around. Like if hes not traded this year, hes getting extended at a much lower AAV.

@Perrywinkle1267 Yeah it would be hard sell unless it generated something of immediate fit high value. His ability to generate routine season winning might be too important for the time being. Clock ticking a bit though, and gotta sell at a reasonable high (and not a fucking salary dump)

@TwolvesBlog 1. Rudy hasnt fallen off at all in the past 4 years. 2. Why would we not just wait until the deadline to find out if we should pivot off of Rudy or flip something else for a PF?

@DietBeginsMon In Tim fashion, any Rudy trade will probably be done for “optionality” in which we get a bench player, some cap room, and somehow also give up picks. But it’s potentially close to time. But we do need him for regular reason stability.

@TwolvesBlog It really just comes down to Rudy —- if they’re keeping it’s a waste to go into the season with an incomplete team If they move him in a trade that extends the timeline then they probably can however I would assume if they’re moving Rudy they’re just getting a younger PF anyways

You twitter nerds are way over-valuing the letters PF. This isn’t fantasy bball where you have to play a guy labeled PF and get big counting stats out of PF each night. They need to play 5 guys and how long each guy on the roster plays can change each night. Beside they have huge Guards and Sf so some nights you can def play another SF or G at the “PF”

Seems like most signs are pointing to keeping Green and I think he’s absolutely “not nothing” and will be a useful shooter.

I do wonder how much of a factor this is actually. But still is a concern with the final trade, in which the Wolves did give up two major rotation players and a lot of dependable production (your thoughts on Julius aside). We shall see. More fun at least!!
