South Hills Middle School has a large police and fire presence. The school is only being used for a staging area and there are no threats to our schools. Follow for updates.

A MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF OF POLICE:

🚨 Media Advisory: The FBI Detroit Field Office and our Michigan law enforcement partners will be hosting a press conference to provide additional information from yesterday’s attack at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Township. It will be held at the Berman Center for the Performing Arts at 6:00 p.m.

No students/staff from Temple Israel were injured during today’s incident in West Bloomfield. One suspect is deceased on scene.The area has been secured and there are no active threats to the community. Expect extra patrol at Bloomfield Hills Schools and places of worship.

Bloomfield Hills schools are in secure mode due to an ongoing incident in West Bloomfield. This is out of precaution, there are no known threats to Bloomfield Hills schools at this time.

ALERT: The 1:00 PM test of the outdoor warning sirens has been CANCELLED due to severe weather.

Traffic Update: All clear and back open. Oakland County Road Commission has salted the area for safer travel.

Eastbound I-75 business loop to northbound I-75 is shut down due to ice. Six vehicles are currently in the ditch. Find an alternative route.
