True :

This is what a typical American woman ate in the 1940s. We called it peasant food. Now we call it optimal nutrition. Your great grandmother knew something we forgot. Breakfast: Eggs fried in lard or butter. Bacon or salt pork. Whole milk. Sourdough bread made from scratch. Lunch: Leftover meat from last night's dinner. Homemade soup, bone broth base, whatever vegetables were in season. Butter on everything. Dinner: A whole chicken, pot roast or pork chops. Liver once a week, nobody questioned it. Potatoes roasted in drippings. Cooked vegetables with butter. Whole milk or water. Dessert: Fruit in season. Simple cake made with real butter, eggs and sugar. What she didn't eat: Seed oils. Margarine. Protein powder. Low fat anything. Processed snacks. Ingredients she couldn't pronounce. What she had: Strong bones. Lean muscle. Energy to raise children, keep a home, work a farm and show up fully for her life. What you can have if you eat like she did.
