Staff at the Labasa Hospital Laboratory have chosen to receive the TCV jab and protect themselves from Typhoid.

Kudos to the Labasa National Fire Authority officers for receiving their Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine.

The healthcare workers in the Northern Division have been actively receiving their typhoid vaccines with hopes to set an example to their community members. In fact, the vaccination of healthcare workers has been ongoing since the start of the campaign.

If you are under 65 years of age, you are eligible to receive the Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV) during this mass vaccination campaign! In completion of four weeks of the campaign, it is important to note that there have been no adverse reactions reported.

"It's free, painless and free of any adverse reactions," this is how the children of Galoa in Namoli, Macuata described the Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine. Close to 15 children in the village were vaccinated as they urged children their age in the North to take the vaccine.

Churches in the Northern Division can now book with our Typhoid Vaccination teams to conduct the vaccination at their churches on Saturday or Sunday services. This opportunity is also available to other religious groups that may have scheduled mass gatherings.

The Ty-FIVE Project marked a milestone achievement as it launched the typhoid mass vaccination campaign in the North on July 3rd. Minister of MHMS, Hon. Dr Ratu Atonio Rabici Lalabalavu, commented, "I am indeed hopeful that the impact of this Typhoid vaccination".

A total of 16 Health workers in the TaveuniSubdivision were part of a 2 days training for focusing on personnel in the subdivision. The workshop aims to equip health care professionals with the knowledge and skills to familiarize with typhoid fever and typhoid conjugate vaccine.

A total of 28 Health workers in the Savusavu Subdivision were part of a two day training aimed to equip the professionals with knowledge and skills to familiarize with typhoid fever and typhoid conjugate vaccine.
