🚨La fiscalía federal responde a los abogados de Naasón Joaquín García diciendo que los abusos sexuales son “solo la punta del iceberg” de la acusación criminal contra el líder religioso. En un documento presentado ante la corte de Nueva York, fiscales rechazaron el argumento central de la defensa, de que los cargos deberían desestimarse porque Joaquín García estaría protegido por la libertad religiosa. El gobierno sostiene que las leyes contra el tráfico sexual son leyes neutrales de aplicación general, y que no importa si la coerción utilizó promesas de bendiciones espirituales o amenazas de condenación eterna, eso sigue siendo coerción, dicen. Afirmando que un delito es un delito, con o sin contexto religioso. Fiscales señalan que desde diciembre de 2014, Naasón encabezó lo que llaman “empresa criminal Joaquin-LLDM”, una red para traficar y abusar sexualmente de mujeres, niñas y niños, producir por**grafía infantil, cometer fraude bancario y silenciar a víctimas con amenazas y violencia. La fiscalía también aclara que no están criminalizando a la iglesia en su totalidad. En el escrito afirman que la gran mayoría de fieles de La Luz del Mundo en México, Estados Unidos y el mundo que no sabían nada de estos abusos y no formaron parte de ellos. Lo que se acusa, dicen, es a una cúpula corrupta dentro del liderazgo, no a la institución religiosa en su conjunto.

@VBFact_Checks Pues que mala estrategia política y jurídica. Si california tenía un iceberg de evidencia, pudieron darle condena perpetua a Naason, y así seguir con el caso federal. No hay razón en porque darle 16 años cuando pudieron darle toda la vida.

Miembros de la iglesia La Luz del Mundo han donado más de $2.1 millones de dólares para la defensa legal de su líder preso y convicto Naasón Joaquín García. El líder religioso actualmente cumple una sentencia en California tras declararse culpable de delitos sexuales contra menores y enfrenta además un proceso federal en Nueva York por cargos de crimen organizado. De acuerdo con el sitio oficial del fondo legal, más de 9 mil personas han realizado aportaciones que ya superan los $2 millones 100 mil dólares. La campaña es organizada por el despacho de abogados encabezado por Alan Jackson, uno de los abogados defensores de Joaquín García. El sitio también aclara que las donaciones no son deducibles de impuestos y que cualquier dinero sobrante podrá utilizarse para futuras defensas civiles de Joaquín García.

@VBFact_Checks @bzamoratv I don’t care if you reject the premise because we never talked about whether Naason was an apostle in the first place. The premise was never about the US laws but rather exploitation of the church members. Did Paul also exploit by accepting the offers at his feet?

@Tychicus1926 @bzamoratv If you wanna draw parallels between Naason and Paul, you would first be required to prove that Naason is an apostle, which would be impossible since he’s a registered sex offender.

Remember apostle Paul said he knew how to live in abundance and in poverty, and Christ received very luxurious gifts when he was born? What’s the issue? the primitive church would put everything under the apostles feet

@Tychicus1926 @bzamoratv So again, where did all this cash, luxury watches, jewelry and gold come from? If members fund every aspect of the church operations, what are the tithes and love offerings being used for? There were never any money laundering charges in California, btw.

@VBFact_Checks @bzamoratv It is funded to operate church functions 🤣🤣🤣 the IRS is just investigating for improper book keeping, not because it’s illicit to collect donations. First amendment protect us. Thats why Cali dropped the money laundering charges
