I want to say this clearly and for future reference: I love it when people tell me they love Indian food when they meet me for the first time. I recognise it as an obvious attempt to connect with another human, and I take the opportunity to dive into it more. Good on you for liking Naan, you have good taste. But also, now you have to hear everything about how I make curry and MY opinions on how onions and garlic save the world.

@LAlsentzer @DrCasteelEM Idk about where you are but every reputable school requires 500+ hours plus another exam for an *additional* certificate

@DrCasteelEM I worked 120 hrs my first week of residency in a very busy children’s ER. Had a np student once ask me if they could shadow me for 60 hrs to be certified in pediatrics- said no. Couldn’t sign off on them being ready to see kids with 60 hours of clinical experience.

The NLN/ANA support keeping clinical hour requirements this low? 500hrs is 2 months of med school rotations. Given NPs have independent practice rights in >50% of the country this is indefensibly low. Their rationale about this worsening nursing shortages is a stretch at best.

@DrCasteelEM My program requires 800h of strictly NP hours, the expectation being you’ve spent 4000+ hours already working as an RN (typically BSN educated,) prior to applying. This thought of lowering (or keeping low) to 500 is WILD to me, esp if you’re going independent

@JaynSaun It's possible but it won't look like spider-man 2 60fps. Gta 6 will have a bigger map and way more things to handle physics wise and ai wise. Completely different games. As I've said before I don't recommend using a limited smaller open world super hero game to compare with gta 6
